    Enjoyable afternoon
On a grand autumn afternoon we spent a great couple of hours exploring the varied life in Denmark’s past. With a multitudes of original dwellings over a few centuries it gives an unparallel picture of farming, varied crafts and occupations. It was fascinating to see the all the different buildings from every part of the country, including former territories under Denmark’s rule. Several types of mills are present, reflecting the key function they had in the tough lives of the past. A plethora of implements and utensils are on display, covering every aspect of day to day survival in former olden times.

    Enjoyable afternoon
Lots of interesting buildings, many volunteers to talk to and learn about history, things you can touch, animals to see and activities you can take part in. It's quite a big site, so you could easily spend 3-4 hours. I was there over 2 hours and didn't get round to it all. It could do with better signage but volunteers can guide your way. An easy metro ride from Copenhagen and would be very enjoyable for kids.
