The Karen Blixen Museum Is Well Worth The Visit.

A historic home, bird sanctuary, park, and museum all in one, located in the house of writer and Nobel Prize finalist Baroness Karen Blixen (in the US and UK, Isak Dinesen), known especially for "Out of Africa" and "Seven Gothic Tales". The museum not only maintains the 17th century house, Blixen's furnishings, and the park, but regularly hosts exhibitions related to Blixen's life and work in Kenya and Denmark. Recent exhibitions have included an exhibition "HER" by internationally acclaimed artist Candice Breitz about Meryl Streep's career.

    Loved, loved, loved it!
If you are interested in the life of Karen Blixen, please make the easy journey to her home/museum in Rungsted just a short trip from Copenhagen by train. The gardens are lovely for lunch and a Prosecco! The bookstore offers many books that are difficult to find in the US and offers lithographs of some of KB's paintings. The front desk staff is welcoming and will answer any questions you many have. I visited twice!!!

A look into the life of a fascinating lady who was born at the end of the 19th Century.
There are some great comments recommending this museum. I think it is well worth the visit if you are interested in late 19th and early 20h Century Danish history (including the way of life and interior decorating), writers and reading, women who lived interesting and unusual lives, or Africa. The museum is at the home of Karen Blixen, a famous personality and author who lived in colonial Kenya. I took the train from Copenhagen (I went from Nørrebro station) to Rungsted Kyst Station, and then walked. It is only about a 1 kilometre walk. You can go various ways following footpaths through woods. One person who left a review thought the trail was poorly marked, which it is, but that adds to the charm. I prefer walking on a trail without signs every minute. I posted both routes I took on Wikiloc.com . Go there and search Rungsted Kyst Karen Blixen museum, and you will probably find them. The hardest aspect of going by train for me was understanding what I was buying, because the train ticket machines were mainly in Danish even if you selected English.
