We visited the Museum at the Castle and thought the seven euro charge per person was very reasonable considering the scale of the Museum with many rooms and floors. I concur fully with the reviews below, no need to repeat the excellent descriptions. We stopped here by car on our way to Zurich from our annual ski vacation in St. Anton am Arlberg - usually we take the Arlberg Express bus from/to Zurich airport so it would not have been possible to stop here. Lucky break that this year we had a car. We spent about 1.5 hours on the permanent exhibition. I found the English audio guide to be excellent both for the top-level thematic story but also for many of the individual items on display. I also agree that I felt particularly moved by the stories of individual people and families from Hohenem and the Voralberg region.See more..
Im not super keen on museums, but this is one that came as a nice surprise. The museum was modern and interesting and was filled with interactive pieces. We were there for the alpine ski exhibition and found all of the artifacts fantastic! The best part about it was that there were booklets in English and Helga, one of the employees (who speaks perfect english) gave us a little tour of the museum! Thanks for an incredible visit!
