4.5Malaga Cathedral(7.943 reviews) - Outstanding - a must visit Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Architectural Buildings • Churches & Cathedrals
Stunning both inside and out. Next time I'm going to investigate having a guided tour, so much to see. €12 Euro to gain access to this beautiful cathedral and also onto the roof. Less expensive if you don't want to go to the roof, but I would absolutely recommend it if you don't mind 150+ steps in a fairly confined space. Access to the roof is timed with a guide so if you are under time pressure, do ask at the ticket desk what time the next roof tour will begin. Then, views from the top are magnificent. A leader takes groups up and you get to spend approximately 35 minutes there. Not a tour, as such, but the leader will answer questions if you have them. They also have admission prices for children and 65+ adults. One of my favourite things to see and do in Malaga. There are toilets in the gift shop and also near the roof (if you are badly stuck!)See more..

this is a must visit church in seville. the churches in seville tend to be a bit bare in the paintings you associate with churches in Italy for example but the altar works in this church is just incredibile. we managed to enter the church during a service which restricted out movements unfortunately, however, in every other occasion that we passed this church it was closed.See more..
4.5Basílica de San Juan de Dios(1.209 reviews) - Breathtaking Baroque Basilica Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM Churches & Cathedrals
Greeted by two lovely ladies at entrance This basilica is so worth an hour or more of your time . We visited and there were about 4 other couples in whole building , so felt very special with no crowds. The audio was included in entrance price snd was really informative. The fact you could get so close to the artefacts and behind and above the altar made everything in the basilica so interesting . Photographs don’t do justice Will certainly lift your spirits with the silence combined with its “ pompous” decor Very good value for money and worth a visit .See more..
In our tour of the city, our guide mentioned the wood/gold pelican behind the altar in the treasures room, and the chapel with a 24x7 nativity scene. Both are worth hunting down. Pretty good audio guide.See more..

4.5Holy Chapel of the Saviour(590 reviews) - Sacra Capilla De Salvador for it’s correct Spanish name, Wednesday: 9:30 AM - 2:30 PM, 4:30 PM - 7:30 PM Spent 1-2 hours Churches & Cathedrals
This free-standing chapel, the pantheon of Francisco de los Cobos, secretary to Emperor Charles V and his chief advisor in matters of the imperial funds, is a masterpiece by Diego de Siloé; its layout embodies the full funerary symbolism of the rotunda as an evocation of the Holy Sepulchre. Siloé's design was executed by Andrés de Vandelvira, who crafted the entire Sacristy. The result is a church that stands comparison with the finest Italian Renaissance architecture.See more..

It was commissioned by Queen Isabella on the site of the Main Mosque, which later on became the Santa María de la O Church. It was designed by Enrique Egas but was modified according the Renaissance style of Diego de Siloé. The construction works started at the beginning of the 16th century. It turned out to be a Spanish Renaissance masterpiece, praised by writers and historians. Its exterior structure is Gothic. The main facade was designed by Alonso Cano. The inside of the church is Renaissance on a Gothic floor plan, with chapels at the sides and a main chapel, a masterpiece by Siloé. The Cathedral treasure is kept in what used to be the Chapter Room. Today it holds ornaments and priceless treasures.See more..
The church itself is nothing special inside, however the arched bell tower is spectacular and the views from the top are very fine. It is not too difficult a walk from the centre of Aracena. Take a path down on the north side though a pretty area of old cottages – this leads to the cave entrance.See more..
You may get a feeling of oh too many Palaces and museums but DONT miss this one. Walk through the narrow entrance into one of the most interesting architectural gems of Ubeda. Soaring pillars hold up this roof with three large processional areas. Look at the the two large chapels and the fascinating decorated iron gates with their own stories, go to the sacristy and then out onto the patio and then don't miss the cloisters. Its an uplifting place to visit and with the Synaogue the highlight of Ubeda.See more..
