  1. 5.0 Navy Seal Museum (1.337 reviews)
    - History Close-Up
Sunday: 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM Military Museums
    Navy Seal Museum image
I have always read about and followed Navy Seals as I am very intrigued with their training. When in Vero Beach we saw this museum was nearby and had to visit. So glad we did! The museum you go through is at your own pace and you can quickly burn 2 hours before you know it. It is divided into periods and how the “Seals” evolved. I read a lot and watched videos going through the museum and thoroughly enjoyed it! All the artifacts are authentic and when I climbed into the chopper I thought how amazing it would be if there was ‘Virtual reality’ tied to it. Outside we climbed on boats and saw parts of the obstacle course. Go see this if you are in the neighborhood! See more..

    - Beautiful, romantic stroll out, back, and around
    Spent 1-2 hours Parks
    Jetty Park image
We were staying across the street so after dinner, we strolled together thru the park (cute sculptures and decorations), then out the whole pier. It is surprisingly long. We hit it at sunset and the sky was spectacular - deepening to a dark purple. It was a very romantic walk - despite one section smelling badly due to some rotting seaweed. Then we continued up the jetty past a couple of restaurants. Unhurried. Sweet. A great evening. See more..

  6. 4.5 Blind Creek Beach (202 reviews)
    - Everyone is welcome, one of top attractions in area.
    Beaches
    Blind Creek Beach image
We have been to a few nude beaches, but these were our first visits to Blind Creek Beach. We were there on Wednesday January 25, and again on Sunday January 29. Both days were sunny with a high temperature around 80. The parking area was near capacity on both days, we arrived around 1:00PM. Both days there were a few hundred people on the beach. The occupied area was approximately one mile in length. The texture of the sand is soft and fine, so expect some blowing sand if it is windy. There is a good slope to the beach, with the flatter area being near the top. On Wednesday the water was weed free, on Sunday there was a small amount of sea weed rolling ashore. Both days had significant wave action with few people going into the water. On Wednesday the population was approximately 60% male 40% female, on Sunday there was a higher percentage of male visitors. Wednesday average age was in the their 50's, Sunday's crowd average age appeared in early 40's. There are porta-potties in the parking lot. I would recommend arriving early because of the parking and the sun angle. In the afternoon if you are looking for the perfect tan you are looking into the dune grass, I rather look at the ocean. If you are in the Fort Pierce area you need to visit this beach! We were vacationing in area and spent about 2 hours each day. See more..

  9. 4.5 Pepper Park Beach (150 reviews)
    - Beautiful beach - Lots of humans!
    Spent 2-3 hours Beaches
    Pepper Park Beach image
Soft sand, gorgeous ocean views, lush vegetation, gentle waves. When we arrived there was hardly anyone on the far end of the beach and it was glorious. Around 11am teens started pouring in (it’s a Friday if a likely spring break week so probably not a regular occurrence). By 2pm there were hundreds of teens gathered just where the public beach ends. Bathrooms are average - not great but they are functional. Lifeguard on duty. Would love to come back on a different day than the local rager. See more..
  10. 4.5 Fort Pierce Farmers Market (136 reviews)
    - Farmers Market and Crafts
    Sunday: Flea & Street Markets
    Fort Pierce Farmers Market image
Enjoy the downtown Fort Pierce Farmers Market on Saturday. Vegetables, sweets, teas, and coffee, as well as a craft market. I also took a walk over the downtown and checked out the local shops and places to eat. One place we visited was the Manatee museum and education center. It only costs a dollar for the entrance. I ate at 12abuoy, and it was great, I recommend the cold or hot shrimp. It was only $8.00 per half-pound and they were huge for this price. Enjoy the market and the old town. #TimSamsTravelUSA Live Life Today, Travel USA!!! See more..

Sailfish Brewing Company opened up in April of 2013 in downtown Ft. Pierce in the 'Edgartown' Neighborhood. We started on a small 1 1/2 barrel brewing system and soon upgraded to our current 3 barrel system. We soon realized that due to the demand and tremendous support from our fans that we would have to expand again! St. Lucie County Regional History Center image
We were given a tour by a gentleman. He explained all the exhibits and answered questions. Lots to see. Only complaint was I felt we would have rather walked round on our own, and spent longer on some exhibits and less on others. However maybe it is a security issue. We were impressed with the Center. - Abundant wildlife, no people!
    Nature & Wildlife Areas
    Ten Mile Creek Preserve image
Great little spot for kayaking, always see several gators (both In and out of the water) in the warmer months. Many birds as well, with a bird rookery on the right fork of the river near the beginning. Start by paddling upstream (which can be moderately challenging after rain) then enjoying the ride (float) back. If you want to stop to eat or break out of the kayak, you'll have to find your own spot but they are around. Very private, we come here about once a month and we've never passed anyone on the river, just an occasional fisher from a bridge or bank. See more..

Manatee Observation & Education Center image
MOEC is an ideal place to learn more about the Treasure Coast's unique environment and its inhabitants, including the threatened Florida manatee. Inside you'll find an educational film (with closed-captioning), various aquariums, a touch-tank and interactive displays - all of which are enhanced by wonderful volunteers. Eco-boat tours are available along with a wildlife observation tower which provides visitors a bird's-eye-view of the Indian River Lagoon. MOEC is situated at the mouth of Moore's Creek which is a popular spot to see visiting manatees during colder months. There are 400-500 manatees living in our area year-round but, considering their backyard is 156 miles long and connected to a multitude of creeks and canals, it is never guaranteed that they will be visiting the Center at any given time. Please feel free to call ahead in advance to ask whether manatees are present. MOEC is supported by donations, memberships and the proceeds from its gift shop The Vanishing Mermaid. See more..
