I enjoy going there a couple of time a month as I live nearby, Nice place to walk and see Florida's nature. They have camping and can you can entertain your children there. It is a clean and safe environment for the family.

Peaceful nature reserve
Very natural environment with easy access from the city. Dog park is well maintained, but not frequented by many dogs. Camping facilities available

Wetlands rv'ing
When we wanted to locate information on the Savannas Recreation Area RV Park, we could find very little. I learned that there are almost no good online pictures of the rv sites, no campground layout map from which to choose a site. You must call to make a reservation. No deposit is taken; pay when you arrive. A site is then chosen for you - you have no idea of what you are getting or where! Hopefully, the pics I’ve posted will help other campers. We enjoyed our stay of 3 nights, in October 2020, with 20' travel trailer. It is a good place to stay, for the reasonable price. Beautiful location, very pretty wetlands; our site was at the water’s edge. Much wildlife: birds, squirrels, ducks. Great bird sounds! However, some of the park was flooded, including some campsites, and also the way to walk to the bathrooms/showers, necessitating driving over to them. The rv sites could use more gravel and leveling. Some of the site hookups are a long way from what they will be hooked up to. The ground next to the gravel on our site was still slightly muddy from previous rain. The location makes for an easy drive to town, markets, beaches, restaurants. We would stay here again.
