4.5 (254 reviews) Monday: Spent 1-2 hours Ranking #6 in Fort Pierce Aquariums

Great fun for families

Our focus is on displaying ecosystems as complex communities of organisms interacting in their environment. At the Marine Ecosystems Exhibit, visitors can explore six different Florida marine habitats and learn about the complexity and importance of marine ecosystems. The largest aquarium is a model of a Caribbean coral reef. Other displays include living models of seagrass, mangrove, estuarine and nearshore habitats, as well as a deepwater Oculina coral reef. There are several smaller aquarium displays and a touch tank where you can meet some of our local sea creatures. Feeding Frenzy tours daily at 10:30am and Snack Time tours daily at 2:30pm. Behind-the-Scenes tour Saturday at 2:00pm.

    A Gem!!
This may be a small aquarium, but it is compact with educational opportunities. It is very interactive. If you are going in the afternoon, the fish feeding occurs between 3-4pm. The admission fee is about $4.00. Well worth it! The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable.

    Worth a Visit
If you have visited any of the major aquariums such as Chicago, Tampa, Myrtle Beach (like we have), you might find this one a huge disappointment unless you go with the right expectations. It is small yet very informative and focused more on the scientific end of marine life with hands on exhibits including microscopes to view living things in the sea that you can not see with the naked eye. The children their during our visit were have a fun time viewing them. Good way to spend an hour or so especially if you have young kids.
