Jack Island Preserve State Park, Florida, United States

Beautiful scenery

Took our bikes on this trail. Beautiful scenery along a lagoon and Indian river. Very few people. Rougher trail for bikes. My hybrid had difficulty with some sandy areas. My husband’s mountain bike was able to handle it. Would do this again with a bike with wider tires. No restrooms on Jacks Island. The closest public bathrooms are at pepper beach. Trails were marked.

Great place for an exercise ride.
Great place for an exercise bike ride. If you want picturesque scenery this isn’t really the place. The trails are fairly smooth and easy to bike on a mountain bike but you’re in the mangrove trees and don’t get much view of the enormous amounts of water around you. But it IS a GREAT place to exercise as the paths can be a bit sandy in places so you’re working to maintain speed. Not like riding on the beach my any means. There are MILES of trails that connect to other areas. I rode 10 mikes and didn’t travel the same ground twice. There was a good breeze but if you can’t stand the marshy smell don’t go too deep in the park.

    Easy 2-4 mile hike
Flat, semi-shaded hike. Poor signage (take a picture of the map before you start). The observation tower has recently been roped off and states you can't go up. $2.00 entry fee (just a box to put cash into).
