    True Grip Off Road image
I purchased a 2 hour session for my husband to learn how to drive his Toyota Hilux as an off road experience. We were greeted by Grant on our arrival and right away I knew we were in great hands. He had read up on the particular model of truck which we found impressive and right away he gave lots of information about the truck's performance and possible capabilities. Grant's way of teaching was really good and he made everything very understandable. The actual off-road track was great as well and the 2 hours flew past. The breeding centre is proud to be part of the EEP (European Endangered Species Breeding Programme). This is a body that regulates the captive breeding of endangered cats by making recommendations for breeding to produce a strong, healthy and diverse gene-pool within the captive population to ultimately be reintroduced safely into their natural habitat to mix with their counterparts in the wild. Breeding success so far includes the Amur leopard programme which is the world’s most endangered big cat, estimated between 70-80 remaining in the wild globally, also to the Sumatran tigers, Amur tigers and Pallas cats. Big Cat Sanctuary operates by way of personal big cat experiences including big cat tours, individual and group photography days, overnight big cat safari nights and adoptions. What a day! The owners of Elveys Canoe were so lovely and helpful. Me and partner hired one of these two man canoes for the whole day and paddled along the Medway with our pooch. The owners were lovely enough to lend us a life jacket for our dog also and he had a great time! The weather was lovely and all of our valuables were kept dry and safe inside the canoe. Our day was so peaceful and fun we managed to stop off a few times to see some lovely views and play on some manmade swings on trees, have a swim and also set up a lovely picnic Highly recommend hiring one of these out! It was absolutely amazing. The knowledge and history behind this tour was quite awe inspiring. We carried on towards the Lighthouse and lo and behold were offered a tour of this amazing and historic building. Eagle Heights Wildlife Foundation image
We have just spent the whole day at Eagle Heights. We had booked to do the alpaca trek and though we would only be there a couple of hours. The birds of prey flying displays were excellent, we watched both sessions and the staff were very knowledge and informative .The birds flew right over us and there was plenty of opportunities to see them up close. The alpacas were fantastic, Alex answered all our questions and we had lots of time to enjoy the animals. I would recommend the alpaca trek as it made the whole day good value as it combined the general entrance fee too in the cost. There were other animals to see and a small cafe selling a limited amount of sandwiches and snacks. See more..

Pre-booking advised. Discovered in 1835, nobody knows who created it, when, or why. “The grotto is simultaneously haunting and homely. It could be a lost pagan shrine or have ‘A Present From Margate’ picked out in the shells - it wouldn’t matter. It’s still magical, mysterious and (once it’s in your head) impossible to forget.” Far From the Sodding Crowd: More Uncommonly British Days Out, Penguin Books. See more..

  29. 4.5 Knole - National Trust (1.226 reviews)
    - Great, apart from the cafe.
Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Architectural Buildings
    Knole - National Trust image
We visited on a Sunday from Hertfordshire, and found it easy to find. The grounds were plentiful with lots of rises and declines, considering the house was closed it was really busy with a lot of dog walkers, which I guess affords a nice walk for them but of course, there's always the imbeciles who have awful barking and yapping dogs that inevitably scares the beautiful deer !! The deer can be found all over the grounds which is lovely of course, and the shop is great (like all NT shops!). My one 'BIG' gripe however, was when it came to the cafe, I queued for 45+ minutes waiting to be served. During my tedious wait, I got talking to a chap with a well behaved daughter (surprisingly patient) who informed me that they were regular visitors to knole as they live locally and that this endless queuing was very normal and seemed to be like this on any day or time! This is a real let down to the lovely visit, and I feel that this could and should be improved. See more..
