Additionally, we are the only park in Kent where you can visit moon bears, chimpanzees and penguins! As well as the all-important animal collection we have 2 large play areas, both indoors and outdoors plus a sheltered tropical house, reptile house, chimpanzee exhibit and museum which can all be enjoyed whatever the weather. Great day out
We came to Wingham Wildlife Park for the first time today and it was lovely. Most of the animals were out and the park had lots of signage to guide us round. We took part in the red panda feeding experience which was amazing. We turned up to the experience at 10:30am and the red pandas were not interested in the food we were offering and wouldn’t come down from their tree. We were kindly invited back to try again a few hours later to see if they would come down. The second time we went inside their enclosure while Matt (who was lovely and very knowledgeable) told us facts about them and the red pandas made an appearance and let us feed them. Matt answered the questions we had and we didn’t feel like the experience was rushed or had a time limit on it at all. It was a busy day with lots of school children but there was plenty of seating and we didn’t struggle to get close to the animals. The only downsides were the digging and building works (this can’t be helped and I’m sure other enclosures for lovely animals are being built), and the food. We ate at the main restaurant, the food was quick but it was expensive (plus I had to pay extra for sauces) and it was not the best quality. However this is a zoo and you don’t come for the food! Overall we had a great day and would happily visit again!

    Zoo Keeper Experience for child
I booked the Zoo Keeper for the Day for my 8 year old family member and I. What an experience!!!! An absolutely incredible day getting up close to a huge variety of different animals. I had looked around many zoos in the south east area via the internet, this was the only zoo with availability for the date I needed. When we arrived we were given hi viz "Zoo Keeper" jackets, then went straight on to feeding and cleaning the enclosures whilst being given many facts about each of the animals. My animals loving 8 year old family member was entertained the whole time. The staff were amazingly patient, adaptable and highly knowledgeable. Our zoo keeper experts were Jess, Sasha and Megan who were simply excellent. The experience started at 10am - 2.30pm and we were then left to continue exploring the rest of the park-we left at 5pm. The thing I loved about the zoo the most was that it didn't feel commercial in any way, the enclosures were all natural, the newly built mini golf was all made from natural resources and all the animals looked very well kept. A day to remember, well worth the ticket price and also noticed the price per person was considerably less than other larger commercial zoos within the South East! You will not be disappointed......
