First time at the theatre since covid and our concerns were allayed from the moment we arrived at an ‘allotted time slot’ to the multiple announcements reminding people to wear masks, hand sanitizer was readily available and the loos were really clean and well stocked with paper towels. We had booked the ambassador lounge and the staff were lovely and welcoming making sure we had drinks and nibbles and assisting with pre ordering for the interval. Although the coat room was not available, we were able to leave our coats and umbrellas in the bar at our table. The panto was AMAZING - we all laughed until our sides hurt and were so impressed by Diversity and the entire cast. It was truly worth the 2 year wait. We already booked for next year but cannot imagine a better evening. See more..

Lots of volunteers who were extremely friendly and explained things with great enthusiasm ~ i’ve got to mentioned David who was a fabulous 81 years young, and because it was quite quiet we got to spend lots of time with him. The cafe is lovely and very reasonably priced, with a great selection of soups, sandwiches and delicious home made cakes and scones. The hot chocolate was VERY nice indeed. There is also an old fashioned sweet shop where you can buy sweeties from jars ~ the liquorice assorts and midget gems were yummy. Didn’t except to see a Red Bull F1 car or get to hold TWO Olympic torches! A great place for all ages. Your ticket is valid for 12 months so we will definitely return. See more..

  24. 4.5 Stowe House (294 reviews)
    - AN UNMISSABLE EXPERIENCE
    Architectural Buildings
    Stowe House image
Stowe House. Discover the hidden secrets inside...If you had power and riches, how would you use them?In the 18th century, the powerful Temple-Grenville family chose to create an idyllic landscape filled with temples. Amidst these enchanting gardens, they built the most lavish temple of all, Stowe House. This temple was so grand that even Queen Victoria was bewildered by its interiors. Filled with astonishing rooms imitating ancient worlds and classical ruins, the House reflects the flamboyant and colourful characters of its creators. Ceilings and walls decorated with hidden messages and mythology hint at the family’s former power and glory. But wealth and power do not last forever. Excessive spending led to bankruptcy. Extravagant parties, royal visits and Italian Grand Tours gave way to scandal, intrigue and eventually abandonment. The richest family in England became the greatest debtors in the world. See more..
  25. 4.5 Chiltern Open Air Museum (287 reviews)
    - Time travel
Monday: Spent 2-3 hours Historic Sites • History Museums
    Chiltern Open Air Museum image
Driven past many a time, but finally called in to see what was on offer. A very strange attraction, not what I expected, but as a history and architecture admirer it ticked both boxes. The setting is wonderful, acres of green land and woods all around. With lots of places for children to run around and play. Plenty of spaces for picnics, which I would recommend as the cafe was quite expensive for what was on offer which was limited. This is a pity as the site needs people to use all the facilities in order to maintain everything. If i lived nearer i would volunteer for one day a week as I would like to see it continue. I would recommend that they contact local farms and have a free range/organic butchers and green grocers shop near to the entrance. With the correct signing and publicity this would increase the visitors to the site See more..
