    Spitfires.com "The Spitfire Academy" image
I have to give huge thanks and a massive thumbs up to Nigel and the Team at Goodwood for one of the greatest days I've had. Even as qualified pilots (I flew in with my Son for his 22nd Birthday in a Dehavilland Chipmunk) this was an outstanding experience for us both that I will remember for a long time. Nigel took great care to ensure we understood all that we needed to know to get the most benefit from the time we had and calmly talked us through the various manoeuvres as we were flying the Sim. No restrictions on phots, or videos-we took these ourselves, which is a great bonus as so often this is banned so that companies make more money from customers selling their own pics. I would highly recommend this to fliers and non-fliers alike for a very affordable warbird experience. I'll see you again!! See more..

  11. 4.5 Tilgate Park (1.381 reviews)
    - Plenty of different walks
Monday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent More than 3 hours Bodies of Water • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Parks
    Tilgate Park image
The park caters for everyone, solo visitors, couples, families, and dog lovers. Enjoyable walk with a couple of places for a drink/cuppa and snack (all made fresh per order). There were lots of different people, dogs on leads, off leads, families with babies, toddlers, children, teens, adults, older people and some cyclists. Choices of different things you can do, playground, nature, etc (check the website). Only downfall it's hard to judge when you pay for parking. Do you pay for an hour, or two hours? I actually paid for 2 hours but if I was going to have lunch there I would have needed to pay 3 or 4 hours, so due to this I found I had spent 90 mins so didn't have time let to use the restaurant. 12. 4.5 Nymans Gardens and House (1.244 reviews)
    - Day out with friends
    Monday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Gardens
    Nymans Gardens and House image
I visited the gardens with my partner and a friend from Newcastle who was staying with us for the week. The gardens were well presented and very pleasant to stroll around in perfect walking conditions. Following our stroll around the gardens and house we went to the Café to indulge ourselves in a snack and a beverage. The snack was mainly sandwiched and tea / juice but in extremely clean surroundings with good attentive staff and very good Covid19 safety measures in place. Additionally, the toilet facilities were excellent and clean. We keen to purchase a plant from the garden centre but spent some time discussing a particular plant with the team who suggested that the plant might not survive extreme temperatures below freezing in the Winter. As such, we were advised not to purchase the plant as it was not particularly cheap. It was brilliant that the garden centre team had customer interests at heart rather than trying to increase their taking s for the day - well done team! See more..

Excellent facilities, friendly staff, tasty food and overall good value for money. We stayed in a lakeside pod and I enjoyed the fishing during the day (at a reasonable price) and the pod was spacious. Advice - bring an air bed and extension lead (to give you more plugs) and do not leave any food outside as there can be pests (AS TO BE EXPECTED IN ANY OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENT). The showers and toilet facilities are exceptional and the staff are friendly, engaging and helpful! Thank you! See more..

  21. 4.5 Highdown Gardens (742 reviews)
    - A must in spring.
    Spent 1-2 hours Gardens
    Highdown Gardens image
Highdown Gardens is a unique chalk garden nested in the Southdown National Park to the north of Worthing, overlooking the sea. The 8.5 acres gardens are home to a National Plant Collection, a ‘living library’ of rare plants and trees adapted to live on chalk throughout the year. It is a place cherished for its intimate and peaceful character by local visitors through generations. It is equally highly regarded by some national and international botanical institutes, horticultural societies and gardens for its heritage significance and horticultural interest. Its extensive snowdrop and paeony collections, rare and ancient champion trees and shrubs growing in a challenging environment bring over thousands of visitors each year. Many of the plants are from the original collection started by keen horticulturist Sir Frederick Stern in 1909. Over the years, the gardens had royal & state visits with the likes of Queen Mary & David Lloyd George. Check website for seasonal opening hours See more..
  22. 4.5 Hotham Park (582 reviews)
    - Always worth a visit
    Parks
    Hotham Park image
Whilst in Bognor Regis we went into Hotham Park where the history of Bognor Regis started. It was established by Sir Richard Hotham. The main feature of the park is probably the house, which I believe is now privately owned flats. There are many plants and trees which make it a pleasant walk, away from the roads, which surround the park. Just inside, by the main entrance there is a car park. Also near here by the information centre there is an interesting carved tree. Sports are available too, as well as a cafe/restaurant. When the coronavirus isn’t around entertainment also takes place. There’s something here for everyone. See more..
  23. 4.5 Arundel Cathedral (577 reviews)
    - Amazing French Gothic architecture
    Monday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Churches & Cathedrals
    Arundel Cathedral image
It is astonishing to find a French Gothic church, now a cathedral, in a historic Sussex town, its roofscape rising above the gardens of the adjacent castle. Dedicated as the Catholic parish church of Arundel in 1873, the church commissioned by the 15th Duke of Norfolk was made a cathedral in 1965 - seat of the Bishop of Arundel and Brighton. I had not expected to find this and went to explore further when I had finished my tour of the Castle. Designed by the architect Joseph Hansom (who also designed the Hansom Cab), the architecture on the outside is extremely impressive. Unfortunately at the current time the Cathedral is only open for an hour a day for a service. I would love to return and see the interior. I did however manage to visit the Church of St Nicholas which faces it across the road. See more..
  24. 4.5 Bishop's Palace Gardens (512 reviews)
    - Beautiful gardens
    Monday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Gardens
    Bishop's Palace Gardens image
We visited on a sunny spring day, with the gardens looking great. We were able to use a blue light card to get a discount on entry (I think RHS members are free). I felt there wasn’t much to see in the palace, the gardens are the main attraction with the wells which give the town it’s name. There are some lovely views of the palace and cathedral. The public can access the grounds and walk around the moat and visit the cafe. When we visited they were getting ready for a cinema showing of Hot Fuzz (15th anniversary) which was filmed in Wells and a wedding which meant the palace was shut in the afternoon (so worth checking the website in advance before you go). The tickets are valid for a year so it would be nice to go back and see the gardens through the seasons. See more..
  25. 4.5 Bosham Quay (485 reviews)
    - Wonderful views
    Spent 1-2 hours Beaches
    Bosham Quay image
Bosham Quay is part of Chichester Harbour. Paid for parking is available near the quayside. Do not park on the sand, as when the tide comes in your car will be under sea. The views around the quay are splendid, especially looking towards the church and Anchor Blue pub. It is possible at certain times to walk around the quay. Then besides the views you’ll see swans, ducks, boats etc. At certain times of the year wonderful sunsets can be seen as the sun reflects on the sea. Highly recommended. See more..

  28. 4.5 Goodwood House (362 reviews)

  29. 4.5 Kingley Vale (316 reviews)
    - Outstanding views and unspoiled scenery
    Nature & Wildlife Areas
    Kingley Vale image
Our first time visiting, we were bowled over by the vast array of beautiful trees, plants, and flowers not to mention many butterflies and birds. The ancient yew trees were remarkable so worth a visit. We had our lunch in a meadow near the very steep climb to the top. Not for the faint hearted was very steep but amazed ourselves we managed it. There are other less steep options which my legs now are telling me we should've taken. The barrows at the top are outstanding with regards to historical importance. So much to see, was a hot day but we equipped ourselves with a cool bag full of ice and ice cold refreshments. Though hot we found plenty of shade in amongst the many trees. Recommend highly if you enjoy the unspoiled scenery and nature, if you want cafés, amusements and other social amenities then try Alton Towers after the lockdown See more..
