My husband and I recently took a trip to Thailand and we had the good fortune to book a cooking class with Mina. We absolutely LOVED it. Not only was the class fun but we learned a lot about Thai cooking. As expected we learned to execute the recipes we pre-selected but even more she taught us about the Thai aesthetic and style of cooking. Mina cooks with care and with lots of love. She sent a taxi to pick us up at our hotel to bring us to her classroom that was comfortably nestled in a local neighborhood. We really enjoyed the intimate and comfortable surroundings of her kitchen while it was poured rain outside. Mina runs a very professional operation. An apron is provided for you during the cooking class. The kitchen was well appointed with everything that we needed to create our own authentic Thai meal under her tutelage. It was by far one of our most favorite, and one of the most DELICIOUS, meals that we had in Thailand. At the end of class, she gave us a free cookbook. Some fellow travellers at our bungalows had booked an island hopping tour with Bass and asked if we'd like to join them, and boy are we glad we did! Early start (8am pick up) but it was worth it. Bass took us to the popular islands and got us there before anyone else, so we enjoyed the serenity without hoards of tourists. He also took us to some less known spots, a beautiful little snorkeling spot (with no one but local fishermen around) and an amazing sand bank at Koh Yao Yai where we were the only people as far as the eye could see. Bass was friendly, light hearted and a great host. Boat was clean, fast and safe. Lunch was delicious too! Can't recommend highly enough. See more..

We planned our kayak, and kayaked our plan. Paddling the sea kayak at Koh Yao Noi Paradise was a memorable highlight of the stay. So different. Well worth while. Very peaceful and remote. The kayaks are available as part of your stay at Koh Yao Noi Paradise. Our plan was a six kilometer paddle with frequent beach stops to take in the sights and refresh. Sea gypsies cave first. Then there is a hidden lagoon with a hidden beach on Koh Kudu, the island to the north of Koh Yao Noi. The lagoon is hidden by a row of three towering limestone pinnacles. A rarely visited beach. Just beside is another small beach from which big tree beach can then be seen to provide a path to navigate across the channel to it. At big tree beach in the national park a resort is being built. Take all the water and food you need. Pick a calm sunny day. Use lots of sun cream. Wear a life jacket. Be safe. See more..

We dived as a family of four to Yawasam island. We took a longboat from the dock and the trip took near enough an hour to get to the dive site. We dived twice in the AM and both dives were really fun and colourful. All of us really liked the dive instructor Fai. She was exactly the right mix of professional and fun and nothing was too much trouble for her or her team. The dive equipment was all good and recently serviced and she gave a thorough and accurate briefing pre dive. It was refreshing to see a dive school run by someone like Fai. She was great with all her guests but was clearly an expert diver and careful businesswoman. We will definitely dive again with the team here. Highly recommended. See more..

I hired a fishing boat for a day to go to the small islands north of Koh Yao. Koh Kudu was one of them. It is a small, amazing island! The entrance is blocked by two big, and one baby limestone rocks. The rocks form a little green lagoon in front of the island. I had the place to myself for a heavenly (Thai) picnic lunch on the beach. It was absolutely peaceful, with the sounds of the jungle behind and the waves lashing up to the rocks in front. The sand is so soft and white, your feet just sink in while walking. There are pretty trees, that make every view picturesque! And the packed lunch and my guide/boatman were great too! See more..

My son (11 years old) and I dived with Tiger and Sahad and it was perfect. We both have PADI open water. They were very attentive with my son and very professional and nice. We could see that they knew how to navigate underwater really well even if the visibility was very poor. Don't be put off by the appearance of the shop (still under construction at the time). The equipment was in good shape and they were really friendly. We did 3 local dives in the Phang Nga Bay. It was very nice but the visibility was poor (good underwater navigation exercise). We also went to Shark Point and the visibility was great. These areas were very nice to dive down to 12 meters (maximum depth for the PADI Open Water Junior). Lots to see. Hello, my girlfriend and me had a chance to stay at cape kudu for 1 night but... it was like 3nights. After check in we had a great lunch at hornbill restaurant, highly recommend the messy crab, salmon tatar and troufle soup. Thai food is also great, they can get fresh fish and seafood from local too. We rent a scooter and took about 30mins to tour around yao noi island. We also met general manager which really great at service. After checked out we went for a longtail boat 4island trip, also made our day too. Overall we really give 10/10 for our stay!!! See more..

There is a charm that exists here that is hard to explain. Solemn and inspiring. We arrived by longtailboat to a deserted beach confused about the total absence of people, considering the amount of perceived infrastructure. Multiple signs and some buildings including an entry hut with a signpost for payment of the national park fee. Unmanned and unused. We pressed on and discovered the closest thing to Jurassic Park on earth. Buildings that were totally abandoned before completion and gangplanks/ picturesque rivers that have gone to disrepair. We walked quietly up to the Big Tree (which is beautiful in itself) and were in awe at how nature had reclaimed a place and fascination about the story of why this happened. All in all it makes it a solemn and atmospheric experience and an absolute must visit. If anyone could shed some light on what happened here I would be very interested but otherwise go and visit this incredible lost world. See more..
