  1. 5.0 Wat Khao Suwan Pradit (16 reviews)
    - Tranquility with a fabulous view
    Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Wat Khao Suwan Pradit image
We never tire of visiting this temple. It never seems busy and with the car park immediately adjacent to the temple, it’s easy to visit( can still climb up the steps if feeling particularly energetic!). The views from the temple are outstanding -only spoilt in one direction by a series of very large oil storage tanks. In recent years, the temple has built two “piers” which enhance the views out across the sea. Stunning is the only was to describe them. The interior of the temple is quite ornate and worthy of close study. There are some beautiful artifacts and photography is allowed. At the rear of the temple is an interesting collection of bonsai, some of which seem very old. An hour is probably long enough here but it’s possible to linger longer because of the views. Highly recommended. See more..
  2. 5.0 Hug Village (5 reviews)

Brought my family here and the kids just loved it! It is an beautiful place and they sure put some effort in making it so. The staff is friendly and helpful. The whole place is like an huge, well taken care of park where you can enjoy some cold drinks in the café, shooting bow, ride horses, feed the pigs and sheep. Great for the whole family and highly recommended! See more..
  3. 5.0 Wat Donsak (1 review)
    - Amazing!
    Spent 1-2 hours Religious Sites
    Wat Donsak image
What an amazing sight! A gigantic statue of Luang Phor Thuad-a famous Buddhist monk much revered by Thai Buddhists. The construction took several years and the surrounding area is still not finished. It really does take your breath away when you first see the statue. It’s impossible not to wonder at how it was constructed. Alongside is another, smaller statue representing, I believe, Chinese Buddhism. There are large areas of water and fish food can be bought to feed the always hungry fish! There is a cafe and several other food stalls on the site. Parking is no problem and toilets are situated by the large car park. The actual temple is quite small but beautifully decorated like so many Buddhist temples. The temple and its grounds are signposted from the main road leading to Donsak and the ferry terminals. Just follow the side road and it’s impossible to miss seeing the statue. Allow probably about an hour and longer if you buy food and a drink. Highly recommended. See more..
  4. 4.5 Koh Rat (7 reviews)
    - Interesting visit
    Spent 1-2 hours Islands
    Koh Rat image
Koh Rat is a small island near Donsak town and is joined to the mainland by a single track bridge. It’s very difficult to park on the island but there is a car park on the mainland by the bridge. For 10 baht per person, a motor cycle tuk tuk is available. The island is the home of the local fishing long tail boats. Immediately you reach the island, there sure stalls selling packs of various dried fish all at reasonable prices. The best way of seeing the island is to walk around it…allow 15-20 minutes. You get good views of the coast and the houses of the local fishermen. It’s an interesting place to visit and much more worth while than some of the more touristy places. See more..
  5. 4.5 Warehouse 18 Pool&Cafe (4 reviews)
    - Great place!
    Water Parks
    Warehouse 18 Pool&Cafe image
This was our first visit and I doubt it will be our last. There are two pools - one which will be a delight for children featuring water slides and a second by the coffee shop/restaurant is a more traditional pool. Car parking seemed to be where ever you could find a place under the trees and didn't seem particularly well organised so I'm not sure what it will be like at weekends and public holidays. The warehouse part is fascinating and on two levels. There's all sorts of artifacts on display from old typewriters to shelves of DVDs and old bicycles. The menu is pretty comprehensive and very reasonably priced. There are also specials boards. Staff are friendly and efficient and we didn't have to wait long for our food which was plentiful and tasty. The Warehouse Pool and Cafe is certainly different and as Donsak doesn't have that many less traditional places to eat, it is a very useful addition to the area...not forgetting the swimming pools. Well worth visiting. See more..

  7. 3.5 Donsak Pier (60 reviews)
    - A word of warning
    Piers & Boardwalks
    Donsak Pier image
What ever ferry you take to the islands, if you are travelling from Suratthani airport, if you arrive at the airport before about 4pm, there is no need to take a taxi to Donsak whatever you might be told at the airport . If you arrive after 4pm and want to get to the islands that day, you will have to take a taxi from the airport. You will probably find it cheaper to stay overnight in Suratthani and travel to the islands the next day. If you want to use the Lomprayah boat, you will need to arrive at the airport before about 1-30. The best independent and impartial advice is available from the Suratthani hotel and tourism booth near the exit next to the Raja ferry booth. Hotels and some boat tickets are available here. Only use a taxi when there is no alternative as it will cost 1600 baht! See more..

Nice service, but beware of scammers. Me and my wife was looking for a cab. A lady at the entrance in uniform tried to sell us one for 2000thb. A cab is normally around 300thb. We called in a cab instead and so should you. I use Toun taxi app with in invitation code SLLWKK. Try it, and make your own personal opinion! See more..
