  1. 5.0 El Velo de la Novia (89 reviews)
    - Spectacular waterfall. Hidden treasure.
    Spent 1-2 hours Waterfalls
El Velo de la Novia image
Amazing waterfall about 3 hours from Pucallpa. Very accessible and well maintained. More than worth the S/5 entrance fee or about $US 1.75. The photo ops are plentiful. The park closes at 5pm and you should allow at least 3 hours to really enjoy everything. There are clean bathrooms where you can change into swimsuits. There are two fairly large pools formed at the base of the falls and while cold, the water is very clean. They falls also have two lifeguards on duty during operating hours. There are two decent restaurants and some street vendors. Avoid the street vendors and eat st the restaurants located about 50 meters down the path. Your stomach will thank you. See more..

If you want to go there, the perfect time to leave Pucallpa is 4pm to arrive there for the sunset. It's a perfect place to watch it, how the sky starts changing color..it's quite and peaceful. Just bring something for the mosquitos because you may get bitten. Totally worth the little trip :) See more..
  4. 5.0 Mai Niti Healing Center (37 reviews)
    - There is hope; a truly authentic plant based medicine retreat

    Mai Niti Healing Center image
I recently finished an amazing two month stay at Mai Niti. Maestra Lucila, her brothers, Maestro Leonardo, Peter, Alex and all the other volunteers and helpers were absolutely wonderful and made my experience life-changing, enjoyable and pleasurable. I came to Mai Niti hoping to address years of substance abuse and addiction and a lifelong battle with anxiety and other associated disorders and I truly have never felt better in my entire life. The center is rustic yet comfortable with great accomodations and plenty of space to spend time by yourself or socialize with other guests. I felt very safe and happy during my stay and enjoyed nearly every moment of my time here. The ceremonies are conducted well and Maestra Lucila and her helpers are readily available to help with any concern. I felt well attended to and cared for and feel that I addressed some serious issues that were creating a lot of problems for me in my life. The food is really excellent given the dieta restrictions, many thanks to the volunteers and kitchen staff for preparing such delicious meals. I would highly recommend Mai Niti to anyone looking to change their life through plant based healing. See more..

  8. 5.0 Itaya Arte (5 reviews)
    - Beautiful handmade Peruvian jewellery
    Friday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Speciality & Gift Shops
    Itaya Arte image
Itaya Arte is a beautiful little jewellery shop just off the main plaza in Pucallpa. It's run by two artisans who design and make all their jewellery onsite. They use silver, stones, macramé, mixed metal, and more to design some really amazing and unique pieces! I bought some silver earrings, a quartz and ayahuasca macramé pendent and a silver and labradorite necklace. They explained that their designs are influenced by Pre-Incan civilisations across Peru who were deeply connected with the natural world. I've already had lots of compliments on the pieces I bought and if you're in the area I would definitely recommend having a look at their beautiful collection! See more..

    Ayahuasca Spirit Healing Center image
This was an amazing experience for me. I felt so taken care of both on ceremony and out of it. The retreat is rustic and in the jungle which was one of the reasons I chose it. The whole retreat was structured so that I could focus on my healing without distractions and lots of activities. It was perfect. The food was simple but delicious. And the Curanderos were so good, kind and wise. I truly couldn’t have had a better experience. And will be back again. See more..

    Pantiacolla Tours image
We first contacted Marianne at Pantiacolla before the pandemic to organise a Manu tour as part of our visit to Cuzco and the sacred valley. Two years later and whilst a health blip prevented our Manu visit Pantiacolla instead organised the most fantastic Cuzco and Sacred Valley tour. No sooner had that tour started than a strike in Machu Picchu pueblo threw our new plans into the air!! Suffice to say that we had a fantastic tour and a brilliant time!! Pantiacolla must take huge kudos for this - a brilliant, flexible agency who ‘leaned in’ to the challenges, employing top people as guides and drivers and offering a standout service. I couldn’t speak more highly. See more..

    - Recomendaciones para visitar las cataratas
    Spent 2-3 hours Waterfalls
    Catarata De Ishipashiari image

    - A hidden gem in Peru
    Canyons
    Boqueron del Padre Abad image
I have had the opportunity to visit Peru several times and in my visits we always seem to visit Boqueron del Padre Abad while traveling. What a special place this is. Walking around the scenery is spectacular. The river, the plants and flowers, and the falls are all worth a visit here. We even had the opportunity to swim below the falls. I travel between Pucallpa and Huanuco and this is always a great place to take a break before getting back to the challenging highway between these two towns. If you do travel this area make sure you stop and take a few pictures and recharge yourself. See more..
  19. 4.5 Urubamba River (23 reviews)
    - Gorgeous River Surrounded by Mountains and Lush Vegetation
    Bodies of Water
    Urubamba River image
We experienced the Urubamba River both on our train trip from Cusco to Aguas Calientes,, walking along a beautiful riverside park in Aguas Calientes, and the view from our hotel room. As you go down the river, you see fast water, deep canyons, and occasional Inca ruins and terraces. The further down you go, the more lush it becomes. Out hotel was just on the north side of Aguas Calientes. Here there is lush vegetation, plunging mountains, and tropical flowers replete with happy hummingbirds. Loved sitting on the deck our hotel room, listening to the river and watching the shifting light on the water and mountains, a zen moment. See more..

    Laguna Yarinacocha image
Definitely a must see and not too far from the plaza de armas. My friend and I did the boat tour, we were taken to 3 didn't places along the lake. The first was Caserío 11 de Agosto, where they had a baby sloath and let us hold Lupita for 2 soles. She was sweet and softer! There were artisanal items for purchase all handmade. Our next stop was a mini zoo in the jungle, followed by a trip to see a large hotel made out of wood being constructed. In total we were out there for 2 hours for 40 soles See more..

  25. 4.0 Parque de La Lupuna (35 reviews)
    - Not just a big tree..
    Parks
    Parque de La Lupuna image
This tree is actually a memorial to the fallen here in Pucallpa. A local guide told us some history. There was a terrorist group here called the path of the light. Who killed many , many people here. This tree is uses to commemorate them. Please correct any details, I've a memory of a gold fish. For a town with so very little to do, its worth a look at this giant of a tree. Its not always an option for everyone to pay a guide to take them on a 3 to 4 hour drive to see the rainforest. For tours I recommend Rita Alfa Turismo, they are a professional company. You can find them at grupoalfavt.com See more..
