We took the 4 night /3 day all in one tour. Raul was an excellent guide, fun, knowledgable and easy going to be with. Everything was as stated on the website. The pick up and drop off services punctual and all contact easy by WhatsApp to iron out any details. The Finca lodge was wonderful ! See more..

-Trip of a Lifetime
Nature & Wildlife Areas
This jungle lodge was the highlight of our trip to Peru and probably the most amazing place we've ever stayed. Only an hour up the river, the lodge itself is magical. Really fun adventures that take you close to animals. We felt like we were at Harry Potter's Hogwarts--all day we kept seeing fantastic animals and plants we'd never even heard of, but that the locals viewed casually. There's a resident curmudgeonly Toucan, screaming weaver birds, shy agoutis. Then afterwards we'd have a fanstastic meal and a rest in our wonderful private hut that looked like something The Professor built. And, to top it off, they're a totally responsible organization, working with the local community and rehabilitating wildlife. Incredibly knowledgable, sweet staff. They make a real effort to make sure that everyone gets to see all the animals and learn about them. See more..

We went on a three day tour with Elmer and it was probably a highlight of my trip to Peru. He's really passionate about the jungle and taking care of its resources and inhabitants. He's open, friendly, engaging, and thoughtful. He prepared us for every step and detail of the way. For example, he advised us to buy water while we were still in Puerto Maldonaldo to save money since bottled water is more expensive when you're in the jungle. In a way, I regret that he was our first tour guide in Peru as he became the gold standard for tour guides. We saw a lot of animals. Elmer's observation skills were amazing. Also, his photography skills. Go on a tour with him and you'll see! ;) Whenever we needed anything, he was there to help us. It was a smooth and easy trip and we could trust that Elmer has us covered. Bonus: this is a small business operation, run by Elmer and Alex. If you want to support small businesses, go with these guys. See more..

-Excellent place to book your tour online
Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Multi-day Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
Jony was great at customizing tour package to what I wanted. Was very reasonably priced as online tour groups go. I would strongly recommend going with him. I spent 3 nights in Collpas Tambopata Inn. Chuncho clay lick is worth seeing. You're watching parrots from across the river so a 600mm lens is a minimum for any decent photos of the parrots. The trails by the lodge are great and tower is really cool. I did it at night and watched lightning in the far distance from top of it. I also spend 3 nights in cabins by lake sandoval which were nowhere as nice as CallpasT. Inn. Lake Sandaval is beautiful with a lot of opportunities to see birds, caiman and a small family of giant otters. Sunset on the lake is amazing. Jony, thank you for well organized tour. See more..

-Amazing Day Trip to Lake Sandoval!
Eco Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
We booked a day trip to Lake Sandoval the day before and were astounded by the low prices. The service was really nice! On the day of the tour we left for Lake Sandoval on time with an incredibly nice and well educated guide who really made this trip unforgettable. We saw 4 different monkey species, a couple of beautiful caimans and many colourful birds! Also the lunch was great. I eat vegetarian which was effortlessly thought after. We can definitely recommend the day trip to Lake Sandoval! See more..

-Fantastic
Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
We are a rescue, rehabilitation and release center for wild animals of the Amazon rainforest. We largely care for animals that have suffered from the illegal wildlife trade and habitat loss. We are not a zoo, every animal that can be released will be, and we are one of the only centers in Peru who actually release animals back into the wild. We currently have a number of different monkeys, mammals and birds, including Howler monkeys, Woolly monkeys, Capuchins, Tapir and Macaws. We are a 15 minute drive from Puerto Maldonado along the Tambopata 'corredor touristico' and you are welcome to come for a tour or to vounteer. You´ll learn all about the animals behaviour and the issues they are facing in the wild. We rely on visitors and volunteers donations to survive. See more..

This reserve in the southern Amazon is rich in flora and fauna and the most biodiverse area of the rainforest in the Peruvian Amazon. The reserve has world record diversities in bird, butterfly, dragonfly, beetle and fly taxa. It is such an adventure to access the reserve sailing down the river and then staying at one of the local lodges. An unforgettable experience you can´t miss! See more..

The Manu National Park is one of the jewels of the protected areas system in Peru, because it encompasses a range of altitudes, from the puna grasslands at 13,123 ft down to the Amazonian plain at 984 fasl, passing through dwarf forest, montane forest, and foothill forest. Moreover, uncontacted ethnicities still exist within its boundaries. It is advisable to visit from April to November. See more..

Cesar was an amazing guide for our trip to Machu Picchu. He arranged every step of our journey from Cusco to Machu Picchu including transportation, lodging, entrance fees and local tour guide. His knowledge of the local bird population was second to none. He even managed to work some magic getting us onto a departing train when our train was delayed by several hours. I highly recommend a guided bird tour with Cesar, especially if you speak little Spanish (Cesar was spoke beautifully flawless English, which I greatly appreciated). Great guy! Great guide! Our experience with Symond was incredible! He guided us on a 4 day expedition into Manu National Park and the journey was one to never forget. His senses are so keen to find wildlife and his knowledge of the ecosystems couldn't be known without being immersed in it for a lifetime as he has been. His coordination with local professionals ensure your comfort, safety, and most importantly, enjoyment throughout your time with him. -Africa 2022 & Peru 2019

I’ve been on two trips with Tamandua. The Amazon & South Africa. These trips have been absolutely life changing. The places, the people, the sightings, but most importantly the experiences. It’s hard to put into words what I have gained from each of these experiences but they have absolutely been highlights in my life. You are well taken care of and everyday of these trips is a constant adventure. From getting up early to see capybara on the river in the amazon or otters on the oxbow lake at sunrise to sunset game drives having a glass of wine with a herd of elephants in the bush of africa, these trips never disappoint. Enjoyable adventure with our family of 5, 3 kids ages 10 and up. Our local guide was knowledgeable and we all enjoyed our treks through the jungle although the evening ones were the best. It’s a nice family run affair , the food was perfect for our family and we enjoyed learning about their culture. The tubing down the river is an experience we will all remember as we’re the evening stars and sounds as you fall asleep! This was not a luxurious experience but definitely an adventure for the memory bank and very educational for our kids too! See more..

-A memorable birding tour
Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Multi-day Tours • Sightseeing Tours • Private Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours • Photography Tours
My wife & I did a birding & Machu Picchu trip with South Birding Peru in August 2022. It was our first trip to Peru and we enjoyed our 16-day stay. The pre-trip discussions were handled professionally by Jesus and Lisset. Jesus picked us up from the airport and was with us throughout. He was very efficient with managing all aspects of our stay and travel. He did well on the food front too as we are vegetarian! Our birding trip covered Cusco & Amazonian forest and one day each around Lima and Santa Eulalia valley. This is where Jesus shines. Be it bird calls, their ranges, minute species differences, locations, local contacts, you name it – he knew it all. And what I found exceptional was that he never had to look up a guide book even once. His tenacity is also noteworthy. When our enthusiasm was down on a dull day, he kept at it. His doggedness is the sole reason we saw the Mountain Toucan and many other birds. Thanks to Jesus. And Lisset. See more..

This was one of the best experiences I had while my South America trip. Lucho offers a lot of different activities. I stayed in his lodge for almost a week. He and his team are super friendly and helpful. The food is amazing. And Lucho is a guide on another level. He’s so enthuastic and knows a lot about all the animals and plants. Every minute I spent there was worth. I really recommend it to everyone. Lucho if you’re reading this: thanks a lot for great adventures! Daphni See more..

-3D/2N Lago Sandoval Tour with the best guide
Friday: 9:00 AM - 12:00 AM Nature & Wildlife Tours
We did the 3D/2N tour of Lake Sandoval and the surrounding areas. Danilo, our guide with Green Jungle Tours was so knowledge about all the plants and animals in the area and went above and beyond to seek out the animals that we would’ve missed without his expert guidance. Danilo speaks superb English and even some French. He offered some of the best tips for the best of what the jungle has to offer. The accommodation was excellent with comfortable rooms and proper mosquito nets that made sleeping so easy. The food at the lodge we stayed in was so good. Delicious meals with local ingredients and they provide for all dietary requirements. One of the highlights of our trip thanks to Danilo and Green Jungle tours. Would highly recommend. See more..
- 5.0 Untamed Expeditions (10 reviews)
-Ideal Photography Tour
Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Multi-day Tours • Eco Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
I’m back from my second visit to the Pantanal with Untamed Expeditions, and once again I was completely overwhelmed by the quality of the tour. Thanks to Naun’s expert guiding and keen eye, the photography was absolutely out of this world. Naun has incredible spotting skills, and an encyclopedic knowledge of the jaguars and all the bird species. On our many jaguar sightings, Naun would ensure that our boat was positioned for the optimum photo, rather than join the middle of a large ‘boat jam’. I have been on many photo tours, and I can attest that Naun is the ideal photography guide. He works very hard for you and strives to make your experience the best ever. Even if you are not a professional photographer, you will appreciate the difference between an Untamed Expeditions tour and a standard Pantanal trip. See more..

- 5.0 Go Trek Peru (1 review)
-Book your trip in Puerto Maldonado
Multi-day Tours • Hiking & Camping Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
Most tourists book their trek to the Tambopata reserve in Cusco or Lima. Don't . The agencies there take their share of the booking needlesly. Take the the bus or train as you must any how and don't pay 90 soles to an agency. Do it on line in Cruz Del Sur for , 8,16,,18 dollars. When you get to Puerto Maldonado take a taxi to the Plaza the Armas. There is a small pedestrian street at one corner full of agencies who will be happy to make the same booking for much cheaper. The cheapest deal we found in Cusco was 320-350 $. We've booked in PM for 500 soles which is $153 per person. We have saved almost 700$ for a family of 4. And we stayed in the same lodge we wanted. Another way is to book a lodge and arrive on your own and book the trips from ther. This will be more expensive though. See more..

- 4.5 Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick (193 reviews)
-OMG! This is susch a special place.
Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent More than 3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
This is the largest macaw clay lick on earth, hundreds of macaws and parrots gather together to eat clay every day, the 3 large species of psitacis present in Peru come to this place to eat clay, they love the sunny days but even in rainy days or cloudy, they will come, may not eat the clay but will always go to this place so is easy to watch. This clay lick warrants all the species of large macaws, there are other clay licks in the area, each one far away of each other. But, not all of them have the visit of the 3 large species of macaws and 11 more species of parrots. With not doubt this macaw clay lick is the best in the world to watch this unique natural show in the Amazon jungle. See more..

- 4.5 Kosnipata Valley (125 reviews)
-For nature lovers only
Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent 2-3 hours Forests • Valleys
We had a fantastic time here in June but before going to Manu NP protected zone consider the travelling involved to get there. From Cusco to the river boat connection is a full days travel by road each way. From the town where you get on your boat to Boca Manu at the end of Madre de Dios is between 8 - 9 hours. From Boca Manu to Blanquillo Lodge it's about 2 - 3 hours and going the other way from Boca Mano to the Salvador Oxbow lake is about 6 - 7 hours. Travel times vary according to river conditions, whether you going up or downstream and stops along the way. So if you want to go into Manu NP "proper" realistically you need at least 8 days or more. If you have less time be realistic about the parts you can visit without being on the road or river all the time. The two tour operators that appealed most to us was Patiacolla Tours and Wild Watch Peru. We went with WWP because their timetable suited us better and they were more flexible with what we wanted to get out of the trip. In the end we were very happy with our choice. A couple of tips: Take good binoculars, don't skimp! You will be very dependent on these for seeing things at a fair distance, which is most of the time. Be quiet and keep talking to a minimum when walking trails and wildlife watching, forest creatures are very sensitive to sound and they will avoid you if they hear you coming. Have a list of at least 200 things you want to see and you won't be disappointed. If you are going there only to try spot a Jaguar you will be disappointed and be better off going to a zoo. Don't expect luxury lodges, fabulous meals and an easy stroll through the jungle, if that's what you want this is not the place for you. This is nature to be enjoyed only by people who really love it. See more..

This is a "must go" place for people who love nature, wildlife, trekking and adventure!! My family and a group of 15 traveled to Puerto Maldonado and tayed at INKATERRA Amazonian resort. The hotel was the best hotel in the middle of the Jungle!! Can you imagine?? The service more than excellent, facilities, were enough and perfect, food delicious! I have to say that this was my second time staying at Inkaterra "and not the last". My girls 7 and 15 enjoyed enjoyed the trip more than I can tell. Although, my eldest daughter was concerned about insects and mosquitoes, she puts repellent all days and the problem was solved. Highly recommended. See more..
