Beautiful lago Sandoval

The day Trip start with a beautiful boat trip on the tambopata river . Then we arrived to the check control and take a 3 km walk in a very good maintain road even available for wheelchairs to the canoa port and then enter to a magnificent Laguna Sandoval . See many birds , tortugas and even a caimán . Then lunch in a lodge with a nice view . Just take in consideration the time and that the sun really hit all day on the lake .

    the trip was just fabulous.
My husband, my son and I took a 5 day trip together with Terra Quechua to Puerto Maldonado-Tambopata and I was satisfied with the service. The staff were polite and smiling, so on a scale I still rate it very positive. Everyone! The staff members are so hardworking, precise and full of knowledge that it is simply impressive! We learned many things during our day and night walks through the jungle. In Lake Sandoval there was a lot of wildlife, like many alligators, birds, long-nosed bats, monkeys and the stars… What an incredible sky full of stars, the piranha fishing was almost the icing on the cake!

    Giant Otters On View
There is a timber walkway in place on this quite arduous walk to the Lake, but care is needed to not trip easily due to the planking spaces. Also it was stated as 3000metres but was more like 5000 I estimate. Take lots of water, and ensure you apply sunscreen as you out in the open for several hours, and of course wear a hat. It would also be almost impossible if there are any mobility issues. It was quite difficult getting in and out of the canoes. We did get to see 6 otters and watch from quite a distance
