   Last year we visited for the first time Medulin, and one evening after dinner we found this little gem in front of the restaurant we visited. Needless to say that in 10 days we've been there basically every evening,trying a multitude of craft beers from the tap.    We had an amazing dolphin tour with Istra Speed Boat. Our boat driver was incredible. We were traveling with small children (2-8 years) and she was very careful to give us a smooth ride. When we were at the dolphins she managed to drive the boat close to where the dolphins came to the surface. She cared a lot about the dolphins.     Very nice sea kayak tour (4 hours). Milan (the owner, tour guide) is a great guy, giving all the necessary information and support needed. Individual questions could be asked and were answered. Also if you’re usually not into water sports and having less knowledge, the tour around the Rabac bay and the neighbouring beaches and shores is easy to handle.     Istrianatravel is the best! Look no more and book with them if you are considering an excursion. We booked a truffle hunting tour and Mrs. Zdenka Majcan was super helpful and awesome. She’s very responsive and connected us with the best truffle estate in the Istrian Region. We found three white truffles and had an amazing time learning the truffle history, exploring the forest with the dogs and family, and delicious 3 course truffle filled meal. After truffle hunting we inquired about harvesting olives and she went out of her way to connected us with this other family down the road who was harvesting their olives.     We heard about that winery and by chance when we went to see it in that area. We found the property with GPS and we just said "wow"... there were a lot of cars and a large parking lot behind the winery. The view is enchanting looking west (Poreč and Novigrad) and the surrounding hills full of vineyards. A wonderful terrace with people enjoying these pleasures. We drank their "Teran" and a cocktail and bought a couple of bottles and talked a little with the owner.     Best day ever - Michael picked us up and took us into the countryside with his 3 gorgeous dogs. He was very informative and explained truffle hunting very well. The dogs were well trained and found truffles for us. Afterward Michael took us back to his home where his Mother had prepared the best meal we have had so far in Croatia.     My family and I were in Rabac August 2014. We took day trip with Duboka boat cruise to Cres and the Blue Cave it was a fantastic day. We had entertainment during the ride - istrian music was played by two musicians (accordean and guitar). We had 1hour and a half to visit the lovely old town of Cress and then at 1 pm a delicious lunch was served on the boat (choice of fish, meat or vegeratrian meal) We all had the fish that was grilled to perfection and cabagge salad with homestyle bread and wine/beer or other drinks of our choice. Aferwards, we docked at a secluded beach and close to the blue cave. The guests were asked to jump off the boat and swim to the cave or beach, what a great adventure! The kids loved it. On our way back we encountered over 50 dolphins that surrounded us it was amazing words cannot describe just beautiful. We got to swim in another secluded beautiful beach close to Rabac and we came back with more music being played on board. Thank you to Alida and the staff and crew for their wonderful hospitality.     We loved our truffle hunting experience and found it to be the perfect mixture of adventure and leisure. The tasting afterward was spectacularly presented. Between the warm friendly staff and all of the amazing products on offer, it would be easy to spend an entire day here. One tip, if you want to make the most out of the truffle hunt, would be to try to come in the rainy season. Or if you are coming to Istria check the forecast and book the tour the day after a rainfall. Our guide told is this is when you have the highest chance of finding truffles. I have to commend our guide on both his knowledge and transparency in regards to truffle hunting. This is the furthest thing from a tourist trap and I cannot recomend it enough. See more..
