Cuvi Beach, Istria, Croatia

4.5 (82 reviews) Spent More than 3 hours Ranking #8 in Rovinj Beaches

Nice, local beach

Nice, local and quiet beach. You can always find a quiet place to relax. The water is clean and nice but the entrance to the water could be better. There are some places with pebbles but it is mostly rocky (so water shoes are necessary). This beach is great for snorchling as there are many fish in the water. The beach offers some places with concrete where you can lie or you can chose grass. There are many trees so you can always find a shady place. There is a small bar and shower/toilet facility (but you must pay for using it).

Nice beach, but walk on a little further....
Cuvi Beach is an excellent and clean public beach to the South East of Rovinj. The other reviews here are accurate: the water is clean, the pine trees shading the beach are enticing and there are some beachfront cafes where you can relax with an afternoon coffee or glass of wine. The foreshore IS rocky in places and elsewhere stony, so good beach shoes ( I recommend strong rubber sandals with straps ) are best. A short walk to the right from Cuvi , say 5 - 8 minutes, brings you out to a beach area that at first sight seems to belong to the Villa Rubin Resort. In fact, it is public, but the resort provides facilities and amenities. As a result, there are clean toilets, a cold water shower, no litter and sun loungers for hire ( 30 Kn a day ). This beach too is rocky, but there is a shingle area and two more cafes after the one at Cuvi. Beware however that for about 250m just before reaching Villa Rubin the beach is open to naturists, but the concrete walking/cycle path to Villa Rubin goes right through it. The naturists will not be bothered at all by you walking through, but if naturism offends or upsets you, just turn back at the prominent sign that indicates the beginning of the naturist section, or take the sandy detour path inland away from the beach.
