5.0Vino Lovrec: organic winery(15 reviews) - Off the beaten path but a MUST SEE. Spent 1-2 hours Wineries & Vineyards
WINE TASTINGS BY APPOINTMENT We cultivate healthy grapes so that wine lovers can enjoy healthy and authentic wines, and ecology is the main guiding principle of our boutique wine production. Did you know that wine contains more than a thousand ingredients that are beneficial for the human body? However, because of its only harmful ingredient, the alcohol, it should be enjoyed with moderation. As with any other medicine, the dosage is important. Our wines are genuine, natural, and bear the seal of their vintage year. They are untreated and it is best to get to know them at the source, at our place. You can come for a wine wellness retreat, detoxify and educate yourself on organic wines and wine culture in the embrace of centuries-old sycamore trees, guardians of the old cellar and the ethnographic collection. Each wine has its own special story which we will tell you at the educational wine tastings. Those are also available in foreign languages (English, German, and French).See more..
Nestled in high hills and vineyards, this idyllic setting houses a most wonderful sculpture museum. Antun Augustincic is a world renouned sculpture with pieces commissioned by many capitols as well as the UN. The museum contains his studies and models for many pieces. In three small galleries and a well tended garden, the visitor is in awe of the skill and pathos of the artist. Our visit was absolutely wonderful and I would encourage everyone to search it out. There are other attractions in this small village. Across the street is the Franciscan monastery. If the "high baroque" church is open, it is worth a visit. Then sit in the town's square and enjoy the pure air and sunshine while sipping a drink from the pub or grocery store. A short walk bring the visitor around the village bounds.See more..

One of Croatia’s most famous Christmas lights displays, created by a single man: Zlatko Salaj, as a result of his love for Christmas time. It all started in 2001. with simple but colourful decorations over the trees, bridges and pathways of the Salaj property. Now, 18 years later, the property is decorated with 5 million various Christmas lights! The design is being changed every year, so it is safe to say that besides Mr. Zlatko nobody knows what is expecting us in the season of 2019/2020. New season will last from November 29, 2019 until January 12, 2020. This amazing, fairy-tale ambiance is one of a kind experience, enjoyed both by children and grownups from all over the world. Kuznica Manor in the Baroque tradition is about 20 km west of Zagreb. It is operated by the Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul. The building dates back to 1761. It ultimately became the property of the sisters who house some of their sisters, have programs for individuals with drug addiction, operate a large agricultural business and have built an educational center for classes, meetings, and conferences. The furniture in the manor is outstandingly beautiful and the building has been preserved such that classes can be held in the old wine cellar with its brick ceiling. Congratulations! You have just found the Katzler Pavilion, the smallest tourist mega-center in the world, a gift-shop, museum, gallery, vault of Karlovac culture and history, and the favorite meeting place of the locals. All in one place. Its interior can hold several thousand people… carefully allocated throughout the year. A group of five can completely fit inside the interior only if they come with a smile. At the entrance to the Karlovac Star there is a small green house with an unusual name – the Katzler Pavilion. Let it be the marker of entrance and exit from the old center. No, we do not charge for entry into the Star. Nor for exiting. Today Karlovac’s great history is framed in small windows of the Katzler Pavilion, and the interior hides items, photographs and documents which are a part of the mosaic showing the town’s image.See more..

The Erdödy Castle in Jastrebarsko, the oldest building in the city, is located in a beautiful old park, a horticultural monument. Arriving in a nice park you can immediately see a beautiful monumental castle. Unfortunately, the castle is now neglected. The castle is a lowland fort surrounded by water lizards. The castle was built by Matija Gereb in the period from 1483 to 1489. Later the castle bought the Erdödy family. And until 1922 the castle was in their possession. The castle is beautiful in shape with beautiful rounded towers. Stephen Erdödy, a lover of nature and hunting was founded by him in the Natural History Museum. Subsequently bought it wholesaler Ehrman, and when he failed in 1936, the municipality had bought for the children's home. Very beautiful castle and nice quiet place.See more..

Under its branches, the peasant leader Ambroz (Matija) Gubec gathered his like-minded fellows and rebellions. Today, the linden tree has a height of 9 m and a trunk circumference of 4.70 m, and with its age and dimensions it is a natural rarity.
