4.5Mount Yuelu(502 reviews) - Perfect choice for leisure outdoor hiking Friday: 6:00 AM - 11:00 PM Mountains • Historic Walking Areas
If you are a local there or have been living there for quite a long time, you definitely would know several trods from whether Central South University, Lushanna Road, Hunan University or Hunan Normal University. And, all those trods could provide an unique experiences regardless the weather or time. We chose to hike from the trod beginning from National Supercomputing Center in Changsha, along side the Denglu Alley, to Chuanshipo Lake on the Mount Yuelu. Wlaking on the trod through the forest uphill after rainny days could be slippery and muddy, but the fresh air and the smell of the damp mud is so engaging. After reaching the top of the hill near the television tower, panoramic view of Xijiang River and the other side of the city would definitely be the bonus of the trip.See more..

Our visit to the mountain area was on the second day and we had some amazing photos because we were lucky not to be so foggy on our day tour. The place is breathtaking and it was a great experience. P.s don't miss the cable car because it's another 30 mins ride which is full of amazing views.See more..
4.0Mount Hengshan(181 reviews) - Excellent view and a little tired climbing Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Mountains
Last July, I went to Hengshan with my friends and our families. We got up at about 5 am to catch the very early high-speed rail to Hengyang (stated from Changsha). It was in my summer vacation after National College Entrance Examination, I was quite tired for getting up so early. We had breakfast in a restaurant near the entrance. There were so many people waiting for the bus to the half top of the mountain that we waited in the line for about one hour. We climbed for half of the whole journey. It was a long way but the roads were well to step. Along the route, there were many kinds of plants that I had never seen before. And the air was very fresh. As climbing higher and higher, it was very misty. I recommend you to bring a coat for warming or a rain coat. With chatting and smiling all the way, we reached the top of the mountain successfully. In the temple, we worshiped and prayed. In this way, we experienced Buddhism and Taoism culture there. But you should pay attention that the mountain road for bus is very tortuous. You'd better prepare some medicine or plums for carsickness.See more..
We went to visit the mountain without any expectations what we would see, but it appeared to be the best thing in Fenghuang. It is quite a long walk but with some nice temples, views over the city and great nature. Only bad thing is that they are building small holiday cabins in the beginning of the mountain, but as soon as you are past that it is very nice. Must visit when in Fenghuang. The entrance is just next to the entrance of the main bridge in the ancient part of Fenghuang.See more..
Very beautiful area, surrounded by the rock formations. We actually walked down to ten mile gallery, from Tianzi Mountain. The path down is about 2 hrs worth of steep steps, I imagine going up takes much longer, but there are many viewing platforms. The hike itself doesn't have many vendors selling water or food so bring your own. At the bottom, you can take the little train to the bus stop (38rmb one way), or walk on the parallel, flat path. If you come from. the bottom, I'd recommend hiking up for about 1hr, you'll get to see a few of the viewing areas. See more..
What a breathtaking place to visit. Each turn you take give another postcard moment. Be sure to check the weather and be patient as the mist rolls in and out quickly. Food and drink is expensive so carry in what you can but beware you have some hiking to do to get the best views.See more..

Suxian Ridge Scenic Resort locally referred to as Suxian Ling is one of the best tourist destinations in Chenzhou City. It boasts lush green vegetation, well pruned flowers; walking and hiking paths; a temple at the peak of the mountain and its famous cable cars. A single entry ticket costs 55 Yuan while a two-way cable car ticket costs 40 Yuan. While riding the cable cars, one can have a bird's eyes view of Chenzhou city. It's a spectacular view!!! At the top of the mountain lies a temple with a small convenient store at its side. A few metres from the temple lies the famous Suxian Ling Skywalk. 4.5Eryou Mountain(2 reviews) - Mountain scenery and lunch on the mountaintop Friday: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Mountains
My friends and I visited this place in April 2019, and it was a nice morning out. We left the car and took a quick ferry to the foot of the mountain. The 999 steps up to the top of the mountain was quite a challenge for someone who isn't a regular walker or hiker, but the walk was worth the effort. The scenery was beautiful, the weather in April is just right: cool, not humid, a bit of sun and clear skies. Right at the top, there is a village and visitors are welcome to walk around the place, view the local houses and village roads and appreciate the architecture. The houses are the traditional wooden village houses and chickens roam freely - I really found it quite refreshing to the concrete jungle that I live in! We paid for the villagers to cook a meal for us - we had two dishes, pork knuckle and vegetables - but it tasted good. The pork knuckle was smoked in the traditional local style and the savory, smoky taste went well with the ginger, spring onions and leeks. We walked around the mountain and saw where the scholars hid the books (bamboo scrolls in those days) and other scenic spots. I would recommend it to those who enjoy a mild hike/walk and would like to try some home-cooked local food.See more..

5.0Shuangfeng Huangchao Mountain(1 review) - Best remote village I went to in China! Friday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Mountains As most villages and remote places are still populated with lots and lots of people, this is the only proper remote village I went to in all of China! Only a few hundred local people live here, all the rest are Chinese tourists during winter time. It is so nice. I walked up the mountain in 1.5 hours. This is a must in January, the most speculator place I went to in WINTER in China! They don't get a lot of western tourists but it's amazing! Def worth the hassel to get to and with the English barrier. So picture perfect!!!!See more..

4.0Huangyu Mountain(1 review) - A piece of Old China Mountains • Points of Interest & Landmarks
It is no longer easy to find a piece of landscape in China in its untouched splendor... Gorgeous rolling mountains under the bright blue sky... Age old pagodas and a vast number of valleys. Add that to a spot where you can enjoy everything without rubbing shoulders - that is near impossible. Here is a piece of China where you can still discover a panorama of simple beauty. To get there, you need to travel by train to Changsha, and then by train to Chaling county... And then by bus to the mountain, where you can hire a car to take you up for 25 RMB. Yep, rare sights are rarely conveniences.See more..

5.0Xuejie Mountain(1 review) - TheSouthAfrican review Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Mountains The drive to the start of the hike is an absolute thrill. Definately need a 4x4 to traverse the inclines and sharp turns. Please make sure that you ask a local to drive you, because some areas are really dangerous and is not reccomended for the faint hearted. At the start of the hike you spend most of the time slogging up a 65 degree incline followed by bends and turns until after 10 mins you're rewarded with a great view of farmlands and thd city.See more..
