View from the heaven

Our visit to the mountain area was on the second day and we had some amazing photos because we were lucky not to be so foggy on our day tour. The place is breathtaking and it was a great experience. P.s don't miss the cable car because it's another 30 mins ride which is full of amazing views.

Mt Tianmen / Heaven's Gate Cave / Longest Cable in the world / Best Show in Zhangjiajie re fox lady love story
Lots of things to do in Tianmen Mountain - aside from going to the Cave (Heaven's Gate) you can take also the longest cable in the world and enjoy the mountain scenery. During our July visit we saw a lot of butterflies alay. In the evening there's also a show with the mountains as the backdrop - a love story about the fox lady and a farmer which spanned a thousand years. One of the best shows in Zhangjiajie ❤️

    Amazing views, but crowded
Definitely take the cable car up to the top, the views from the ride are fantastic. At the top, theres many observation areas, souvenir shops, even a giant McDonald's. It is quite crowded with tour groups in the middle of summer, I found the locals not very helpful with directions. It was cool even in summer. We took the 2 hr hike back down to ten mile gallery. It is very shady, but bring your own water and snacks. I believe you can hike down to south gate too, but was told that path isn't as scenic.
