  3. 4.0 Hemsedal Ski Centre (201 reviews)
    - Everything we hoped for and more
    Ski & Snowboard Areas
    Hemsedal Ski Centre image
First time skiing in Norway and loved it. Hemsedal is an excellent intermediate resort but also perfect for beginners and advanced skiers will fine more challenging runs on and off piste. Harder runs are limited but check out the map. It’s cold, but we knew that and took appropriate clothing and hand warmers although there were lots at the ski centre. The low temperature kept the slush away at the end of the day. We loved the ski to Hemsedal - a bit of shopping and a coffee and back on the free bus. Restaurants were all good and offered different fare - we checked them all out. A highlight was the different opening times of the lifts with three late night floodlit skiing and the 7:30 am enabling you to ski through the dawn- stunning. Transfers were good and would certainly recommend Ski Safari as a company to book through. Would definitely return See more..

  8. 4.5 Lillehammer Olympic Bob & LugeTrack (110 reviews)
    - Absolutely amazing!

Lillehammer Olympic Bob & LugeTrack image
What an amazing experience! This has been on my bucket list for such a long time and the reality exceeded all my expectations Only the 3G Bob raft was running on the day we visited (it's like a padded bath tub!) but it was still incredibly fast.... I'm not sure if I would have survived the 5G taxi Bob! The staff were wonderful, really friendly and informative. There's drinks available in the ticket office, but no cafe or anywhere to get a snack or something to eat. Getting there without a car isn't easy. We got the 141 bus from Lillehammer Station which drops you off at Fossegarden (cost 53 NK). Its then a 2 km walk across the dam and then through the Family resort (30-40 minutes going as its up hill, only 20-30 minutes back down hill) Fantastic visit, highly recommended See more..
  9. 3.5 Norefjell Skiresort (77 reviews)
    - Fortunate to have 6 days at Norefjell
    Ski & Snowboard Areas
    Norefjell Skiresort image
We were lucky enough to have friends invite us to join them for a week over the UK half-term at this resort, about 2 hours north of Oslo. There are long sweeping runs, with plenty of wide, blue runs for beginners, even all the way from the top of the mountain. Our more expert kids found enough reds and blacks to keep them occupied. Like most things in Norway, it's not cheap. Equipment rental and lift passes were £1200 for 6 days for 2 adults, 2 teens and a four year old. TTwo burgers and a kids pasta, £40. But there were virtually no queues, good equipment, and most of the runs were open all the time, despite some whiteout conditions. The views are fabulous - not the same as the Alps, but just as scenic. See more..

    Kvitfjell Alpinanlegg image
We’ve only been to the Alps before. This was so much better: almost no quest for the lifts, miles and miles of piste, more laidback environment (less part party than the Alps). 2.5h from the airport. Loved it. No going back now. See more..
