    Oslo City Hall image
This is my favorite building in Norway. City Hall in Oslo is fantastic both outside and inside. The woodcuts outside tell a story and the entrance is magnificent. Inside there is so much space and room to breathe. The gigantic wall to wall murals review Norway's history and future. Rooms on the second floor are full of artwork from local artists and the art fills the rooms. On one hall, gifts from other countries are displayed in glass display cases. A super interesting exhibit to browse for sure! Outside the back of city hall is a magnificent view of the harbor. City Hall is a great place to relax and enjoy everything that is offered. Expect to spend a couple of hours exploring. If you only have time to visit one place in Oslo, this is the place to go. Oh, and it is free, as it is a working government building. Don't miss it! The Viking Ship is a modern multi-purpose hall with an interesting architecture. The form is based on the shape of the Viking ships, a functional and beautiful shape that is as appealing today as it was a thousand years ago. It was built for the Winter Olympics in 1994, and the Viking Ship is Norway's national arena for skating. See more..

    Sea Serpent Tower image
Seljord was not on our traveling list except for a place to stop after a long day of driving. This small village was a lovely find with a legend of a sea serpent that lives in the town's lake. The tower which rises 17 metres helps to see if the sea serpent called Selma appears. Hmmm, perhaps the seagull that disappeared was an appetizer for the monster! Lots of walks and legends in this small town. The tower also gives a great view of the sparkling and quiet lake. There are even phone numbers to call in case you see the monster. The kids loved this.
