We walked up to the ski jump area from the centre of Lillehammer which took about 30mins. Arrived at 9.30 and were able to watch a youth squad training and jumping ... amazing to watch their speed and skill. Looked ridiculously scary! We then climbed the 963 steps to the top for beautiful views over the town and lake. Also did the 963 App Challenge .... most challenging part was its in Norwegian and we had to keep translating every page which was a bit of a hassle. Learned lots of facts about Lillehammer and Olympic area however. Well worth the visit ... if you don’t fancy the climb you can get the chairlift which opens from 11am. See more..

4.0Sea Serpent Tower(28 reviews) - Looking for the Seijord monster Points of Interest & Landmarks • Architectural Buildings
Seljord was not on our traveling list except for a place to stop after a long day of driving. This small village was a lovely find with a legend of a sea serpent that lives in the town's lake. The tower which rises 17 metres helps to see if the sea serpent called Selma appears. Hmmm, perhaps the seagull that disappeared was an appetizer for the monster! Lots of walks and legends in this small town. The tower also gives a great view of the sparkling and quiet lake. There are even phone numbers to call in case you see the monster. The kids loved this.
