Great for familly and the more experienced
Hafjell has loads of easy slopes as well as some advanced ones. The problem is for the medium skiiers. There's a problem to get down to the bottom after lunch since it's so bad quality of the snow down there..

Excellent skiing conditions in mid-March, designations could be better
Great snow in late winter, a good number of fast lifts and a variety of different pistes make for several days of great winter sports. As we were rather new to Hafjell, we missed better legends on the map as well as better markings on the pistes; oftenly you didn't really know on which green, blue, red or black piste you actually were, when you missed the only signs at the beginning or the most significant crossings. That is especially interesting for middle european Skiers, as the categories of pistes in Hafjell aren't exactly a discriminative as in the alps. In Hafjell, a black piste is more of a difficult red in the Alps, for example. As we aren't true expert Skiers, and don't require more challenging pistes, we will gladly return to Hafjell. PS: Consider using the great "Warmstuas" in Norwegian Ski resorts, were you can have a picnic in a heated cabin, oftenly with the possibility to buy hot drinks and snacks for little money.
