4.5Mirador Del Rio(5.316 reviews) - Great Sunset place Wednesday: 10:00 AM - 6:45 PM Spent < 1 hour Lookouts
Located 400 metres high, on the Risco de Famara, the Mirador del Río is one of César Manrique's most representative architectural creations as it shows a series of artistic and architectural details and his eagerness to combine art and nature. It is located near the remains of an ancient military base that dates back to the end of the 19th Century. It is camouflaged on the rock in a way in which only a genius of Manrique's magnitude could conceive.See more..
What an absolute amazing road trip. If your visiting La Palma this has to be no 1 place to visit. Check the weather out before you go via the La Palma web cams. We went up today and the LP 4 route from Sant Cruz is breathtaking. The route is typical La Palma following the contours of the mountain. The route starts via lush green vegetation then it opens out to pine forest then high mountain ranges. Take your time traveling not to avoid the fantastic view points. You then turn off the LP4 up to the top. Limited parking for around 18 cars but parking can be had near by. Then you walk out to see the unbelievable breath taking views - stunning. Walk forward step by step to see one off the best views in the world (honestly I have travelled across the globe). Admire nature at its best. There is a clue in why the biggest observatories are here!!!! This place is awe inspiring and inspirational. Please take time out here and replenish your soul.See more..
4.5El Golfo(636 reviews) - Great place for sunset Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent < 1 hour Lookouts • Geologic Formations
El Golfo is a lovely village on the sea about 20 minutes from Playa Blanca. The village has a few tavernas along the sea front and prices looked reasonable from what we saw. The sunset there was amazing and attracts a lot of people taking photographs. There’s also a few accommodations for people wanting to stay and again prices looked reasonable. Would definitely recommend this place early evening for the sunset.See more..
4.5Pico de las Nieves(443 reviews) - What a view! Spent < 1 hour Mountains • Lookouts
Wow! Just wow! If you are looking to get away from the resorts and explore the true island, get a hire car and drive. The drive in and around the mountains is certainly not for the faint hearted, although worth every hair pin bend, twists and single track road. There is a lovely Spanish gentleman with a truck selling light refreshments, snacks and sun cream. This is a fantastic area for hiking and trails in the “winter”. Unfortunately in excess of 40 degrees Celsius the day we were up, to hot for hiking! Not recommend if you are a nervous driver or have passengers that experience motion sickness!See more..
4.0Mirador El Time(384 reviews) - Magnificent views with great food and drink Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 10:00 PM Lookouts
We spent a good while here, watching the sun go down. The main focus of attention was of course the volcano and its lava flowing as far as the sea, but the rest of the panorama was well worth viewing too. The three of us sat on the terrace and ordered Spanish tortilla, baked cheese and a mixed salad. The portions were large, and the size of the plates caused a certain amount of juggling and balancing on the small table. All the dishes were very good quality. The bar does a selection of the local beers -- very local, as our guide pointed out the brewery as we left. The toilets are down steps at the very edge of the escarpment. They are a bit basic, a reminder of outdoor toilets when that was all some people had, but they were being kept clean.See more..
We stopped here on our hiking day for a lunch and it was a pleasure to be the only visitors having our meal with great views. We tried local soup and remained amazed. The building itself is great and kind of hanging on the rocks. See more..
There are a number of walks you can do from here of varying lengths and the scenery is beautiful whichever way you go. There are only 20 parking spaces in the national park, so you need to book a space on line in advance. It's really straightforward but just needs advance planning. It's a stunning place - don't miss it.See more..
Great view! No entrance fee. Welcoming guide. It's possible to get there either by hiking from Agulo or driving. The road by car is quite narrow. The view from the mirador is iconic for La Gomera with a great view towards Teide on Tenerife. The cafe was still closed in December.See more..
4.5Mirador de las Penitas(181 reviews) - Amazing views - well worth stopping here Spent < 1 hour Lookouts
My wife and I stopped briefly here as part of a cruise ship excursion - the views are amazing, and it was also great seeing so many ravens close up, bouncing around near the viewing area. They are huge birds, quite uncommon in the UK but there were loads of them here to see. Well worth stopping to take in the awesome views if you are driving around Fuerteventura.See more..
4.5Mirador de Jinama(88 reviews) - Beautiful views over the island Points of Interest & Landmarks • Lookouts
It was our first mirador visited at el Hierro and it was simply breathtaking. The weather was perfect and we could see the entire la Frontera region and the mountain chain. We also took an hour stroll along the ridge just to enjoy this beauty. Good to know that from this mirador starts the hiking treck with the same name, which used to serve the only connection between parts of island before roads were built. See more..

See more..
Whenever you look at La Gomera places to go this place is always on the front page. An Iconic Rock formation probably photographed more than any other rock on La Gomera. Well worth the trip up the mountain, just hope there are none of my tourist coaches around at the time.See more..
5.0Pico de la Nieve(20 reviews) - Amazing scenery, great walks, a must see area in La Palma... Lookouts
If I got my geography right then this was the endpoint of our Caldera rim trail walk starting out at the highest point near the astronomical observatories. The whole trail along the rim follows one of the GR trails then heading down through the beautiful pine forests it's another minor trail. All are clearly signposted at fairly frequent intervals and have way-markers along the route too. The highpoint is rocky and barren as is the Caldera rim trail and then a complete contrast is the beautiful pine forests as you descend to the road and parking area. I'm sure we missed loads on just our single visit to the rim trail but were lucky with only some clouds coming and going as we walked. Trails are varied, plenty of up's and down's but not so steep as other bits we walked on the island. These areas are definitely a must see if you're in La Palma.See more..
We had to come twice here as first time it was all covered with clouds but several hours later we managed to get greatest views to the east part of the island. Very good access and it has even toilets. See more..
Stopped here for some respite from the curvy road for 15 mins and enjoyed a great view over to La Palma. There is also a statue here commemorating the whistling language of La Gomera and also the church of St Francis of Asissi, which was inaccessible on our visit. Made some nice photos though and worth a stop.See more..
