Great Sunset place

Located 400 metres high, on the Risco de Famara, the Mirador del Río is one of César Manrique's most representative architectural creations as it shows a series of artistic and architectural details and his eagerness to combine art and nature. It is located near the remains of an ancient military base that dates back to the end of the 19th Century. It is camouflaged on the rock in a way in which only a genius of Manrique's magnitude could conceive.

    Great view
Amazing view. Quite pricey at 5 euros to get in, but was part of a multi ticket we bought. Be careful when parking as car park is uneven ground. Cafe has fresh orange but lunchtime snacks are limited and quite expensive. Would recommend waiting until you hit the Cactus Garden as their menu looked quite interesting.

    Well worth a visit
We enjoyed the drive up to Mirador Del Rio from our base in Playa Blanca and we were extremely lucky with the weather as it was a beautiful clear sunny day. This was the first of our visits to various Cesar Manrique attractions on our trip, some we had seen before and were revisiting. Parking was easy although the car park is a bit rough and needed a bit of care whilst manoeuvring. The building itself was amazing and the views were spectacular. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and thought the 5 euro entry fee was well worth it.
