This was such a beautiful cathedral! There is a museum part as well as the cathedral itself. The tickets are very cheap to enter with and there is a gift shop where I bought some postcards of some of the art they had on display. I would really recommend a walk around here.See more..

4.0Iglesia Catedral de Santa Maria de Betancuria(478 reviews) - STUNNING MOUNTAIN JOURNEY - ENDING IN BETANCURIA Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Churches & Cathedrals
Travelling through stunning mountain scenery we arrived at Betancuria, situated in a green valley with stunning palm trees and attractive canarian houses with its cathedral. 0ver the years (the last 20yrs) there are some changes in this village. There are now cafe's and gift shops and a chargeable toilet (1 euro each) and a charge of 1.50 euro to visit the cathedral. A lady awaits just within the walls to collect the money. There is also a 3d cinema with its coffee shop, once again chargeable. This is the most attractive village on the island and well worth a visit. There are a few steep hills to climb so disabled people need to be aware.See more..
The Cathedral is lovely. The murals are exceptional, and it is very serene. The church has numerous side niches for various saints, and these are perfect for the church. There is also a mural of Columbus' three ships which were built on La Gomera in 1492. The high altar is ornate, and beautiful. A lovely place to worship or have a moments devotion.See more..

A must see stop during a trip to El Hierro. The church offers excellent views over El Golfo, but it also a landmark from anywhere in the area. I would recommend walking the path up to the cementery, and also enjoy the view back over the Campanario.See more..
