4.5Spreewaldfahrt, Familie Goertz(38 reviews) - They show you the best of Lubben in a friendly way Nature & Wildlife Areas
The Goertz family is exactly what we needed to visit and enjoy this splendid place. We didn't think of anything, they organized our stay in a very nice house right by the Spree and then they gave us the big ride on their boat on the river. Actually we had drinks and food while admiring nature. Christine is a natural entertainer, always happy and a very good boat driver. Lubben is a must see and having the possibility of staying with a local family has been a real plus for us. We, an extended family of 6, strongly recommend them.See more..
4.5Biosphärenreservat Spreewald(36 reviews) - Idyllic setting with trees, canals and lovely cottages Nature & Wildlife Areas
Spreewald is definitely worth a visit and it is only about an hours drive away from Berlin. It is completely charming and this region is famous for their dill pickles and lein oel (linseed/flaxseed oil). It is Germany's version of the bayou and we paid 10 euros/person for a one hour tour along the canals. It was a sunny day but so cold! They have plenty of blankets but definitely dress appropriately if you are there on a cold day! The houses/cottages were lovely and it was very relaxing riding in the boat. They stop at a stand that sells coffee/tea and bread with schmaltz/pickle. The coffee was awful but it was only 1 euro. I would have been better off just drinking hot water! We were with 8 family members who live in Berlin and they said that in the summer that mosquitos can be a problem in Spreewald but we had none of that in October. Loved walking through the village too and had great food/drink.See more..
3.0Landesgartenschau Wittberg Dosse(18 reviews) - Catch the Train from Berlin to the Gardens Spent 2-3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas • Gardens
The gardens are constructed around Wittstock City Walls and next to the train station from Berlin. We had a wonderful walk around the gardens. The paths are flat and easy to navigate with a magnificent garden around every corner. The colours were spectacular. The food and beer outlets were good with reasonable prices. Afterwards we took a walk inside the walled city not very touristy and most enjoyable. An undiscovered gem for those tied of the crowed tourist sites.See more..

5.0Rhinluch(4 reviews) - You have to see and hear it, to believe it - up to 100000 cranes every year Spent More than 3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
On a normal weekday at 7 am in Linum close to the 'lakes' (Teiche), wave after wave with inredible noise the geese and cranes fly over you for up to 1 hour. And if the weather permits, and the sun comes trough the mist with all this birds flying in formation..... you have to see it to believe it. Remember: This takes place in October every year - there is just one other similar big place in Europe with that number of cranes, in Hungary.See more..

4.5Döberitzer Heide(4 reviews) - Picturesque scenery - signage should be better Spent 2-3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
The Döberitzer Heide is a vast natural protection area that covers a former military exercise area. Nowadays it is covered with most beautiful heathland and is home to wild horses, bisons and other interesting species. However, during our walk we weren’t lucky and didn’t see any of the (large) animals. There are numerous hiking paths through the heaths, but signage definitely needs an improvement. Most junctions do not feature any indication as were to go whatsoever. Some of the plans at resting sites appear to have been taken away.See more..
Hidden scenic treasures abound in the nature reserve Niederlausitzer Heidelandschaft in the very south of Brandenburg. Acres of Scotch heather shine all shades of purple in late summer and mythic moorlands or romantic orchards wait to be explored on foot, by bicycle or on horseback. Visitors are amazed by bizarre relicts of former mining activities or relax while they enjoy a quiet tour by barge - powered by muscular strength - through scenic wetlands. About one hour away from Dresden and two hours from Berlin this yet little explored cultural landscape offers relaxation to all those who enjoy travelling off the beaten track surrounded by a variety of beautiful countryside. We invite you to be charmed!See more..
4.5Sternenpark Westhavelland(3 reviews) - Darkest place in Germany Spent More than 3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas An astronomy enthusiast‘s dream come true: the darkest place in Germany less more than an hour drive west of Berlin. We picked Beobachtungsplatz no 1 as indicated on the Sternenpark website and simply followed the coordinates to a lonesome field between Görne and Dickte. Compared to what you get to see in most other parts of the country, this was spectacular. We gazed at the Milky Way, counted falling stars and listend to the owl concert in the nearby woods. We went on a Thursday night in mid-september, it was new moon and there was only one more vehicle there with us. As early as 9 pm the night sky was perfectly visible already. Amazing.See more..
5.0Erdelöcher Deetz(2 reviews) - Eine tolle Wanderung! Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Nature & Wildlife Areas
Wir sind im Rahmen einer Wanderung an den Teichen vorbei gekommen. Ein Abstecher lohnt sich auf jeden Fall.See more..
See more..

5.0Riesenstein Ringenwalde(1 review) - A small park good for a nice walk. Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent < 1 hour Nature & Wildlife Areas
We made a visit here with my daughter and friends on a cold, wet and foggy Sunday afternoon in November to see the area. It's a small wooded walking park that is about 1,300 feet (385 meters) wide with small ponds and bridges and plenty of large trees in the park. At the far end of the park is the Riesenstein (Big Rock) about 1,500 feet (455 meters) from the park entrance. In the middle of the park sits a grave site with a small church looking building. ** Sorry I am not sure who is buried there somebody important (but I will try and get the information and update this).See more..
Sehr empfehlenswert.See more..
