Phenomenal Location to View the Alcazar, Alhambra and Generalife from Afar

Though there are supposed to be numerous miradors around the city, we ventured to this mirador due to multiple recommendations we saw. Though we got lost a bit trying to find it, the challenges were well worth it. Its situated perfectly across the Alhambra, Generalife and Alcazaba where you can view them from afar and at night, they’re lit up. Its best to plan on arriving at least 45 minutes or more before sunset if you wish to have a place to sit as it gets quite crowded the closer to sunset you get. Of interest nearby is the San Nicholas Church, a few restaurants, and later after sunset, you may be treated to a flamenco dance show and local artisans selling their wares.

Incredible view. Visit early in the morning to avoid large crowds.
We have been staying in Granada and had heard the Mirador de San Nicolas was worth a visit. It certainly was and we walked up a number of times. There is an amazing view of the Alhambra and the city of Granada, with the mountains of Sierra Nevada in the distance. We first first visited in the morning (around 8:30 am) in order to avoid large crowds of people. At that time of the morning there were only about 3 other people allowing a good opportunity for photos. We also visited again at sunset (9 pm) and at that time there were many people there. There are also a number of restaurants on the hill. Overall definitely a must visit if you are nearby, but I would recommend (if you want to avoid visiting at busy times) to visit in the morning or possibly later in the evening (the Alhambra will then be lit up).

    Awesome
This is undoubtedly the best and the most well known location to take a picture with the majestic Alhambra in the background. Nothing else gets even close to this. The thing is that it is incredibly crowded here, especially in the evenings. The key is to be patient and wait your turn and feel free to ask someone else to take a pic. The walk up here is challenging but a taxi here from the center is about 5 to 7 euros, cheap. Please do this if you want one of the most awesome pictures you will ever have.
