Beautiful Moorish Monument
My son and I took a private tour of both Generalife and Alhambra on our trip to southern Spain last week. The guide really helped us see all the iconography throughout the compound, and helped us make sense of things. Going without a guide would also be a lovely experience, though. The cypress tree walk was incredible, along with the gardens, building - pretty much everything. Be sure to book your ticket ahead - only a certain number of people are allowed each day, and you get a timed slot to tour.

Part of the Alhambra Experience
While you can visit the general leaf without visiting the Nasarid palaces, to get the full Alhambra experience you really have to do all three period there is a beautiful center garden in the general leaf and some stylish Mudejar here architecture to enjoy and get you excited about the real showstopper the Nasarid palaces. We went in February and rather early in the morning and it was still crowded with wall to wall people. Definitely pre-book your tickets as they do sell out. We were getting into line with our prepaid tickets when they announced to everyone, at about 11:30 AM, that tickets for the day were completely sold out. If it is this busy in February I can only imagine how chaotic it is in the summer time, offseason is clearly the way to go
