Barrio Santa Cruz, Andalucia, Spain

4.5 (8.910 reviews) Spent 2-3 hours Ranking #10 in Andalucia Neighborhoods • Historic Walking Areas

Gorgeous Spanish neighbourhood

The Barrio Santa Cruz used to be the Jewish quarter. The streets are narrow and form a labyrinth. It’s easy to get lost among the jasmine-scented streets… only to discover a convent or a palace or a hotel. Many of the palaces have wrought iron gates suitable for peeping into their beautiful patios. There are many small stores and some artisan shops, as well as good art galleries.

    Gorgeous Spanish neighbourhood
Lovely spot to explore and find your feet in this stunning location in Spain. Seville did not disappoint and Barrio Santa Cruz offers an introduction to the city which is buzzing with places to experience. Plenty of dining areas and shops to spend money. Cobble-stoned streets. A vision of Spain.

    Delightful area
This area is really interesting. A combination of narrow street and huge wide ones gives a feeling of space and intimacy at the same time. Walking around the outside of the cathedral you can see the Moorish influence on the now Catholic building. The palace nearby is extraordinary and the architecture in general something you need to see. Ornate glazed cast iron Juliette balconies provide what may be the first double glazing against the intense heat of the summer. I highly recommend visiting in October when the days are a dry 26 or 27 degrees and just perfect for strolling
