4 Star Places To Visit in Phang Nga Province, Thailand (50)
4.0James Bond Island(3.765 reviews) - James Bond Island by speedboat Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM Islands
Visited as part of an organised boat tour. You can't come to this part of the world and not see this site. Amazed at the number of influencers hauling gear on to the island to try and get the perfect (artificially staged!) shot. We were greeted by persistent market sellers selling typical tourist junk at highly elevated prices. that you can buy on the mainland at a much cheaper price. Don't go there to shop, spend some time exploring the caves and look out points. There is really no chance to swim at this island. Be prepared to jump down from the front of the boat into the water at the shore as boats cant come in too close.See more..
4.5White Sand Beach(2.779 reviews) - Feet in the sand, a cold beer in your hand Spent More than 3 hours Beaches
Beautiful beach that we visited twice during our stay at the Apsara resort a 300 THB return taxi trip away. Plenty of sunbeds with umbrellas for hire 150THB by the beach entrance and 100THB further away to the left which became our preferred spot as it was quieter and we liked the smaller restaurant and bar. Papaya salad and freshly baked Pizza for lunch with a couple of cold beers went down a treat. Plenty of shade provided by the trees growing right to the edge of the beach if you simply want to lie on the sand. Idyllic.See more..
4.5Phang Nga Bay.(1.802 reviews) - So Worth It Bodies of Water • Islands
Phang Nga is famous for spectacular scenery with limestone cliffs rising out of green water. There are caves, lagoons and tiny secluded beaches awaiting discovery.See more..
4.5Cheaper than Hotel Taxis(1.512 reviews) - seriously use these guys we used once or twice every day when we were there all with excellent results Spent 1-2 hours Taxis & Shuttles
We can't recommend these guys enough, we took them from the airport in Phuket to the JW Marriott and back again we use them at least once every day while we stayed at the really good service that really reasonable prices. They will pick you up at the Hotel take you to the local restaurant pick you up in an hour and a half and take you back to the hotel again. They will do this cheaper than the songtheaw drivers outside the JW Marriott... even after arguing with them for 15 minutes and my wife and I both speak possible Thai forget those guys - take Boss taxi AKA cheaper than Hotel Taxi.See more..
A must to visit island by speed boat (private boat is recommended) before 10pm or weekday to avoid the crowd. White soft sand, crystal clear water & stunning rock with the sailing rock on the top. 2 hours from Phuket/ Phangna so plan for a day trip here. You can spend time having lunch (bring your own), sun bathing, climbing to the top to get the view, walking along white sand beach or enjoying crystal clear water. Don’t try to come during long holidays so everything I describe gonna be much more difficult. See more..
4.0Bang Niang Market(1.331 reviews) - Great Way to Spend an Evening Tuesday: Spent 1-2 hours Flea & Street Markets
Bang Niang Market is located in the center of Bang Niang which again is in the center of the Khao Lak area. The market is open Monday , Wednesday , Thursday and Saturday from 14:00 till 22:00. Be prepared for the wonderful and thrilling fresh and local street food which you will think about when you are hungry while you are back home. If you come for a couple of hours in the early evening you arrive when the market is most exciting and buzzing with activities. There are many stalls selling souvenirs, T-Shirts and local handmade handicraft. In the street food section you can find skewers, spring rolls, seafood, and many other kinds of fresh Thai food. In the produce section you can find many well-known fruits and vegetables as well as produce you can only find in Thailand.See more..
Great hike trough the jungle. We went there by car and parked it where you pay the entrance fee of 200 THB per person. You get a small bag to collect your rubbish and bring it back down to the exit. Great to see that they try to protect nature finally, but it‘s still a long road. To the bottom of the waterfall it‘s a 20-30min up and down walk. The paths up from Level 1 to 5 are nothing for people who are not in good condition. It‘s nice to take a swim in the water when you made it up to the top. Gratis fish spa included ;-). Nice contrast to the beach, good for adventure and nature lovers. Go there EARLY in the Morning and you will be nearly alone, even in high season. The most people come at 11.00/12.00 when the sun burns hottest :DSee more..
My review is for the Island, the ocean, the beaches - Everything was just perfect!! Even though we weren’t super lucky with the weather, the place just look like heaven. As an environmentalist O was really happy to see and read about the efforts Thailand authorities are putting to keep this place preserved. This is a MUST GO!See more..
This was a really good visit, to see the protected turtles. Admission is 60 THB. The project consists of a series of holding tanks where turtles range from newly hatched to much larger turtles, some of which had been rescued after being caught in discarded fishing gear or had tried to eat plastic carrier bags, mistaking them for jelly fish. Some were injured and received "care" from one of the volunteers. Although it seemed sad that the turtles are only in tanks and nothing to do, this is still an important work.See more..
Didn't get to swim in the sea but the beach was incredible. The south end was literally empty on a weekday in mid Dec. Only 1 person actually swimming (lunchtime). We ate at Krua Thai (3 adults) one day and Boom-Boom (5 adults) the next. Both lunches were excellent about 400 baht per head (depending on how much seafood you order). There is also the Appissari Massage there, 350 baht per hour.See more..
What great fun, just good songs and dance by a group of people who clearly enjoy what they are doing, entertaining the tourists. Yes the songs are all mined and yes the costumes could do with a little investment. But when you consider the cost of a ticket is just 300TBH (£7.50) which includes a drink it is excellent value for money. They clearly depend on tips at the end of the show and for individual pictures. But well done to Moo Moos for a great enjoyable 90 minutes of pure harmless fun. By the way, there is nothing in this show which would be harmful to kids. There were a number of kids there when we went and all had a good time. Highly recommend if staying in the Khao Lake region.See more..
Well worth making the effort getting to the beach. Entrance to the National Park is well signed with car parking immediately adjacent to the entrance. Dual pricing applies so 20 baht for Thais and 100 baht for foreigners irrespective of whether you live in Thailand! Very interesting walk through the forest to the beach. Wide variety of plants and trees and plenty of bird life. Reaching the beach has definitely got the Wow factor. Beautiful golden sands with some very interesting rock formations and virtually deserted when we were there. Impossible not to relax when sitting on the rocks listening to the waves lapping on the shore. Highly recommended.See more..
We went there with Similan Sea Safari during our three-day liveaboard trip. The place was amazing. It’s full of rocks covered in beautiful corals. Currents are a bit strong for me but other divers seem to have managed well. Highly recommended if you are a diver!See more..

We walked down to Coconut Beach which is a beautiful walk although you need a torch after dark to avoid the many crabs . We stopped at the Boatyard Restaurant for dinner and the menu was very extensive. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. When it was time to leave they told us that the tide had come in very quickly so that it would be very difficult for us to walk back to our hotel on the beach and offered to drive us back. What service and they wouldn’t take any money. We visited twice more during our stay and would highly recommend it, due to the quality of the food, the friendliness of the staff and the good value for money.See more..
4.5Elixir Divers(312 reviews) - Great Diving and Island Hopping in Koh Yao Yai Tuesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Scuba & Snorkelling
Had a great experience with Elixir Divers. Went diving with them rather spontaneously on six dives (3 days). The team including the dive masters (Tomas, Kamila, Martina) and the boat crew were super professional. The made sure everybody was save and had a good time. As this is the only dive shop on the island, prices are on the higher end; nevertheless, the dive spots make up for it with the abundance of fish. The team also does a full service job, switching tanks and preparing your equipment (personally I am not a fan of that, but I know some people expect it and it adds a layer of safety for less experienced divers). Furthermore, they helped the girlfriend and me by organizing an island hopping trip on very short notice (night before). The trip was great and very well organized. Captain Bao (not sure if spelled that way) was just pure awesomeness.See more..
4.5Mu Ko Surin National Park(300 reviews) - Only open to visit around oct - may Tuesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM National Parks
This is the most beautiful snorkeling spot if you visit Phuket or Khaolak. The reefs here are colorful and full of fish. If you are lucky enough then you might get to see the turtle :). The sea are like turqouise so clear and blue. You can stay overnight on this island but it will be a typical tent or guest house since its located in the military teritorry.See more..
Amazing snorkelling trip to the Surin Islands. Trip expertly led by Poy and his crew. Fast speedboat transfer for the 110 minutes trip then three snorkelling opportunities on beautiful reefs plus a communal lunch at the National Park.See more..
As part of our trip this was the last port of call. Really amazing the cave system is very extensive and the reclining Buddha is a work of art. Everywhere you look there are very interesting icons to view and with a very knowledgeable guide it all makes sense.Even the monkeys were great to see.See more..
Absolutely recommended to visit this place as well as the Tsunami Museum close by, that is of course if you're interested in what happened on Dec26/2004. The time of our visit, the grounds were well maintained. There is a seafood restaurant on-site, but it was closed at the time of our visit (weekday around10am) and locals told us they only open in weekends.See more..
4.5Thai Adventure Club(201 reviews) - Good value for the money Tuesday: 6:30 AM - 11:00 PM River Rafting & Tubing • Canyoning & Rappelling Tours • 4WD, ATV & Off-Road Tours • Safaris • Adrenaline & Extreme Tours • Boat Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours • Speed Boats Tours • Day Trips
The water rafting was so fun! The workers are knowledgeable and experienced. It is definitely worth the price. There are lots of inclusions. Only draw back is too many people in the group doing too many different things. If you dont do everything, your left waiting. My tip to future travelers is to do all the extras. The tour guide will not limit the rest of the group since extra activities mean extra money. Or maybe my biggest suggestion to the company is seperate the van pick ups by activity/groupsSee more..
This is a great island to explore, get the ferry across with your scooter and just ride. The ferry is an experience, good, and terrific value. The two of us went across and I asked how much, 60 baht we were told. 120 baht for the two of us I thought was exceptional value. However, when I give him 120 baht he gave me a strange look, and gave us 60 baht back!!See more..
4.0Ko Panyi(158 reviews) - An amazing experience Islands
Totally worth it. We went as family off season, as part of the James Bond island tour. It’s a very interesting place, from architecture to the super nice people. You can stroll through the alleys, look inside the school or daycare, get a glimpse into the daily life of living ashore. The lunch we got there and was included in the tour price was worth more than the whole trip! Fresh fish, octopus, chicken, soups, way too much for 4 people to handle. Then stroll some more through the alleys with handmade pearl jewelry, haggle a bit and get it for half the initial price and you get some good deals. I think what touched me most was being in this Muslim community, where everyone knows everyone and meeting a queer person, with own shop there, as part of this community. Many closed communities of christians in Europe could learn a lot about hanging in together ,sharing and caring for everyone.See more..
Located in the province of Phang Nga and away from most of the tourism and crowds of Phuket. This beach is clean and has good waves for water sports. It's not really clear where Natai Beach begins and Pilai Beach ends but it doesn't really matter they are both very nice beaches.See more..
4.5Koh Panak Cave(147 reviews) - Great Cave Caverns & Caves
On our tour to James bond island this was our first stop. A hidden cave on a limestone island. Amazing scenery especially the interior which is full of stalagmites and stalactites. They gave us special miners helmets for safety reason. The cave is big with many interesting things to see although half of it is in total darkness. At the end of the cave there is a natural open to a lagoon. Everything was great apart from a rude Indian family that made noise and they didnt let you enjoy or taking pictures. Somebody must talk to them to learn to behave.See more..

4.0The Little Amazon(111 reviews) - Beautiful mangroves, beware of who you pay Spent 1-2 hours Bodies of Water
Beware when paying that you check that the company you booked with is the one you are paying as when you arrive there are a couple of companies running from the same place and there was confusion as we paid the guy who approached us assuming he was expecting us then we were approached by the second company who we had the initial booking with so had to get our money back to pay the initial company and it all caused some tensions. Once resolved though the trip was really lovely so peaceful and beautiful mangroves. Saw some tree snakes and a lizard and just enjoyed around an hour of tranquility. Really well priced just book directly with the companies and not through a middle manSee more..
4.0Nang Thong Beach(110 reviews) - Beautiful clean beach, nice waves and wonderful sunsets Beaches
We stay basically right on this beach and love it. In October/November it is clean and not too crowded, with some nice waves but not too big. The water and the sand are clean and warm and the sunsets are spectacular - this is a lovely beach right in the heart of Khao Lak.See more..
Pretty place, but a bit over-rated. Wouldn’t pay big bucks for taxi transport just for this. Luckily for us it was only a 25min scooter ride. Might be nicer to go see a larger waterfall.See more..

4.5Koh Nok Island(93 reviews) - Loved this island Islands
Spend 6 nights on Koh Yao Noi, loved the island. Beaches very nice but not many beach beds available as most resorts were off the beach. Lovely for touring round on mopeds which are freely available. Food is amazing on this island definitely try Kaya. A must to do is Minas cooking class.See more..
We spent half a day at Thap Lamu Sea turtle conservation and were humbled at the enthusiasm and dedication of Mr Jimmy and his crew. From 1 week old babies to older, disabled turtles they look after and care for all with the same love and attention. A visit here is highly recommended if you love turtles or even if you're looking for something to do on a rainy day. A couple of things i'd like to point out; 1 - Don't be put off by the fact it is situated inside the Thai Naval base compound. You'll need to bring along photo I.D. (passport, driver's license) which you leave at the main gate with the guards but they are very friendly and helpful. 2 - Do try to get a guided tour rather than walking around by yourself...Mr Jimmy is super knowledgeable in all things Turtle related and is one of life's good guys. 3 - The entrance fee is only 60 Baht but please also put something in the donations box...it all goes towards food and medicine for the turtles.See more..
it is the place for relax. There are no people, you can be alone and do good swiming. There is no snorkeling See more..
4.5Ko Yao Yai(83 reviews) - Real Thai Island Joy Islands
Wow. Have been heading off to quiet bits of Phuket for years and am generally a fan of islands. The quiet bits of Phuket are getting very hard to find so we opted for a few days on Ko Yao Yai and what an utter joy to find real rural tranquility and wonderful road side eateries. Be warned, beer can be hard to find but great food, simplicity and tranquility are in abundance. Oh and we took two separate high speed boat transfers between Ban Rong and the island. Both high speed. Both 300 Baht per person but one without a life jacket in sight. Will post some more reviews when I get home to my island! Bye for now. See more..
Easy to drive to from our accomodation in Khao Lak. Worth the drive. One of the better waterfalls to view.See more..

4.5Wat Bang Riang(68 reviews) - An epic must-see! Religious Sites
If you're staying in Krabi and interested in seeing any of the temples, you absolutely need to go see Wat Ban Riang. We stayed in Ao Nang and couldn't find any tours that went there so we rented a van/driver for the day to head north to see the temple. It was absolutely stunning, I've never seen anything like it. The country side surrounding the temple is beautiful; undulating green hills as far as the eye can see. The temple itself is incredibly ornate and intricate. The massive statues of the Chinese Goddess of Compassion and Buddha are incredible. Of all the excursions we did in Krabi, this was by far our favourite. It is a great way to spend a day; you have to see it!See more..
4.5Old Takua Pa Sunday Market(62 reviews) - Quirky little town. Well worth the visit Spent < 1 hour Flea & Street Markets

My suggestion if you want best experience here: 1. Early - Rent a bike or car so that you can arrive here earlier than others. 2. Walk - Go up a little bit, you will see several pond with a lot of fishes. You can swim here as it consider deep 1-1.5 meter 3. Camera - It's will be very good if you have underwater camera. But phone should be enough. 4. Food - You may want to bring something to eat. Sandwich etc. I came here on my way back to Hatyai (driving). Around 12PM-1PM, people start to arrive using van (must be included in their tour package). Stay here about 2 hours because of the water very refreshing. There is washroom here, so you dont have to worry about changing your clothes.See more..
We recently did a 3 night and 4 day Surin Islands tour with Greenview. From start to finish the experience was amazing. The organisation and communication was excellent. We were taken to some incredible locations with wonderful guides. Greenview were very helpful and accommodating and we can't thank them enough for the most enjoyable 4 days! I would highly recommend Greenview and the Surin Islands.See more..
4.5Wat Tham Ta Pan Temple(56 reviews) - Buddhist Heaven & Hell! Points of Interest & Landmarks
In our way from Ao nang to Phang Nga we found "Wat Tham Ta Pan" monastery. Wat Tham Ta Pan is one of the most weird temples in Thailand. It's Located in Phang Nga (100 km from Phuket). It is a kind of Buddhist heaven and hell temple which showing what happens to bad and good people with many colorful statues. At the entrance you’ll see a fountain with five monks with bowl statues. The temple has a vast yard with many Buddhist elements and statues and buildings and an interesting spot for photography. There are peaceful scenes designed to represent heaven, and the sin park is a small sculpture garden full of figures from Buddhist hell (Naraka). The most stunning thing in this temple is a steep staircase which leads to a small roofed temple with panoramic viewpoint at top. The scenery is really breathtaking and all surrounding area is visible. This monastery is worthy of visiting.See more..
4.0Laem Haad Beach(55 reviews) - Nice place to take photo Beaches
About 30 min ride from Santhiya resort to Laem haad beach. the best time to chill out here is 1pm to 2pm because of low tide (local tour guy told us). The route to this location was not easy to find, however just ride slow and notice the sign board. Along the beach is quite windy, you can feel the sand is 'blasting' your leg as you walk down. We been here in mid September, is raining season, but lucky we got a sunny day when visit the beach. very nice place to take photo.See more..
4.5Koh Yao Yai ATV tour(55 reviews) - The best on the island by far! 4WD, ATV & Off-Road Tours • Beaches • Duck Tours • Fishing Charters & Tours • Boat Rentals
Wow, where do I start.. This guy who runs this business is brilliant, we had private trip to Phi Phi which was amazing, took us to Maya beach, snorkling in lagoons and feeding monkies on monkey island- I broke my phone whilst on the tour, was pretty gutted as I was using it for photos, not a problem as the main guy took photos throughout on his ipad for us and emailed them over so we still had the memories.. We stayed in Santyhia hotel and he was so much cheaper - he made brilliant thai food for picnics and never felt rushed in anyway Many times we bumped into him around the island when we was visiting places on scooters, one time we hit a tropical rain shower and got shelter under a tree, he spotted us and drove back with towels and rain macks - what a great guy... we also did the ATV tour which was fantastic and would highly recommend to use this guy..See more..
4.5Doctor Saad(53 reviews) - More than just a massage- amazing!! Spent 1-2 hours Spas

4.5Sea Turtle Conservation Centre(53 reviews) - Highly recommended - turtle love for everyone! Spent < 1 hour Nature & Wildlife Areas
The most amazing place, and extremely fair pricing for tickets. We met the most knowing, kind and friendly man, who told us about the work they are doing with the turtles. He really understood how to involve the children (aged 2-5) and we were in every way moved and amazed by the story of the place and the important work that they are doing, saving turtles one at the time ♥️See more..
4.0Phung Chang Cave(53 reviews) - Deep, dark, wet and fun Caverns & Caves
Great experience. Even if you have been in caves and liked it, but have never been on a boat in cave — I encourage you to try it. Very nice personnel. They are not only polite and helpful, they really love this cave, know every wall and show a lot of fun places. One of guys asked my wife to light on the special hole in stalactite and we saw a heart symbol made by shadows. And the moment, when you turn off all the lights in the end of your way — it’s full darkness. It’s so dark that you almost physically feel it. Unique.See more..
