- 5.0 Balloon Zeberli-Hot Air Balloon Rides- Day Tours (38 reviews)
-Hot Air Balloon over the Swiss Alps
Monday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Balloon Rides
Incredible!! There are quite a few companies offering balloon expeditions depending on where you go from. We used "Balloon Zeberli" http://www.ballon-zeberli.ch/ and if your concerned about his piloting credentials http://www.ballon-zeberli.ch/team-zeberli We flew for 2.5 hours (550.chf) yes it was dear to pay, but go for the gold if your going to go. The winter is the best the best time of the year to fly with the decreased winds, plus the snow capped Alps make it classic Switzerland. Give yourself time to be on call, as the wind and weather have to be exact. We flew on 28th of December which was the day after the first big snow of December. It was a blue bird day to the nth degree. A Highly (pun intended) recommended trip to really see Switzerland, bring some chocolate and you've got a once in a life time kind of experience. See more..

- 5.0 Festungsmuseum Heldsberg (26 reviews)
-Ammonition
Monday: Speciality Museums
The artillery fortress Heldsberg was part of the border fortifications in the Rhine Valley. Built into a rocky crest and with its four built-in guns of 7.5 cm it dominated the southern part of the Lake of Constance in the north and the bridges over the Rhine up to Montlingen in the south. Seven built-in machine guns and other infantry weapons as well as antitank guns in bunkers outside the fortification covered the approach. With galleries of 1000 m length and a height difference of 160 m, Heldsberg was one of the biggest border fortifications of Switzerland. The garrison counted 200, the one for exterior defence 400 hands. Constructed 1939 - 1941, operating until 1990, the fortress was handed over to the registered association Festungsmuseum Heldsberg in 1993. See more..

The Abbey Library St. Gallen, famous for its beautiful baroque hall, is one of the oldest libraries in the world. And it holds one of the most important manuscript collections in Europe, especially for the Carolingian and Ottonian period from the 8th to the 11th century. - 4.5 Kathedrale St.Gallen (688 reviews)
-Exquisite Beauties of Baroque
Monday: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Architectural Buildings • Churches & Cathedrals
The cathedral represents one of the last monumental Baroque monastic constructions in Europe. It was built from 1755 to 1767 under the direction of Vorarlberg native and master builder Johann Michael Beer. The choir stalls with 84 lovely carved seats and the historic organ are works of art in and of themselves. Every Tuesday, there is a Evening Prayer (Domvesper)at 5.30 P.M. The inside of the church is painted in vibrant colours and adorned with stucco, and the interior is decorated with numerous carvings. A serene atmosphere prevails in the church thanks to the soft lighting and malachite green stucco. After the secularisation of the Convent in 1805, the church became a parish church and 1847 at the same time cathedral of the new founded diocese. In 2013, the altar area was renewed. Especially impressive is the baptism fountain with the respecting of the frescos of the cupola. Beside the different liturgy Services and concerts there are also guided tours, for example from may to September every Saturday at 10.30 A.M. (Free admission, collect). See more..

We came as part of a larger group and spent a great time in this Swiss Chocolarium in Flawil, canton St. Gallen. Lots to see, use and play including several possibilities to taste plenty of the many excellent chocolate variations. - 4.5 Wildpark Peter & Paul (153 reviews)
-Charming and delightful!
Zoos
We found ourselves with a rather wet and snowy day (yes, in may, first time since 1957 apparently), so we decided to check out Peter & Paul. We were not disappointed! We were with our sons, 20 and 23, and we dont get to see snow too often at all, so they really enjoyed throwing snowballs at each other and us too! It was lovely to walk in this natural setting and see the beautiful animals. We took the path that goes around and it was so relaxing and fun, even though it did snow, but for us this is an adventure. The fact that it is free is the icing on the cake. We had a bite to eat at the park restaurant. It was very tasty though not cheap. See more..

The park has lots and lots of hiking; from flat gravel paved easy strolls to moderately steep trails up through the mountains. Experience 800 years of history in a unique architectural setting! Werdenberg is one of the few surviving medieval timber house villages in Europe. The town is also on Switzerland’s heritage list of townscapes of national importance. Every year, during the international festival Schlossmediale, the castle becomes the magnificent setting for concerts and art exhibitions. From April to October, visitors can choose between a variety of guided tours and attend special events. See more..
- 4.5 5-Seen-Wanderung (55 reviews)
-Great views, easy terrain
Other Outdoor Activities
This is a lovely place to hike (intermediate level). The paths are all safe and not exposed (although it can get steep at times, so add extra time to your schedule if you have bad knees and hike down slowly), the views are gorgeous specially if the clouds and weather are cooperating. Bring water and snacks, there was no water fountain to refill in the actual hike. Also note down carefully the times for the cable cars and be sure to arrive early if you don't want to rush for the last cable car down. See more..

- 4.5 St.Gallen-Bodensee Tourism (34 reviews)
-The prettiest town in Switzerland
Monday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Visitor Centers
St.Gallen in the heart of Eastern Switzerland has a wide variety of tourist attractions. Discover the diversity of the region from Lake Bodensee and the Four-Countries Corner to the gently rolling pre-Alpine landscape with Mount Santis. St.Gallen, the small metropolis of Eastern Switzerland, is, in many ways, like a large cosmopolitan city. And this title suits it well. It owes this reputation not just to the monastery complex, which is a World Cultural Heritage Site, but also to the success of its textile industry. Rorschach by Lake Bodensee is a vibrant and bustling little lakeside town with pretty town houses and the Forum Wurth with its unique art collection. See more..
