My favourite lake in Switzerland
We visited on a summer morning from the Murg Lido and the lake waters were crystal clear, still and refreshing. The dramatic views of the mountains rising out of the lake with vineyards below, little boat traffic and the occasional paddle boarder just completely inspired the imagination. At the Murg Lido there is a campsite, toilets, showers and a cafe and a purpose built swimming area. Great set up.

Stunning
We took a day trip to the Walensee for a walk and a boat trip to Quinten from Weesen. You can park your car at the parking (paid) next to the ferry departure and walk towards Betlis (about an hour walk) and enjoy the lake and footpath. We had a coffee at Lago Mio, but I would skip that next time. At Betlis we had another drink (it was warm) at Burg Strahlegg. A nice little place with lovely view over the Walensee. We then took the ferry to Quinten - a tiny place you can only reach by boat or on foot (walking probably another 1 1/2 hour from Betlis). As this is Corona time, we had to wear a face mask, so that made the trip a little uncomfortable, but it’s necessary. After lunch at Seehus in Quinten we took a little trip through the vineyards- again stunning views! After that we took the ferry back to Weesen. The boat was pretty full so again a little uncomfortable, but that could not be helped. All in all a very lovely day trip.
