  1. 4.5 Kamakhya Temple (1.762 reviews)
    - Holy and powerful shakti temple
    Historic Sites • Religious Sites
    Kamakhya Temple image
A holy place and one of the most revered shakti peeths in India. Anyone who goes to Assam tries to visit this temple for darshan. The godess shakti here is covered in clothes all the time so it's hard to see or touch the original stone inside the main shrine. There's usually a long waiting line and a special VIP darshan on paying extra money. There are a group of temples in this complex and it is very crowded all the time. The gold lions at the entry are just too good to look at. Very holy place so be responsible and respectful, covered clothes is a good idea. There is also a live animal sacrifice temple, so if you have proble with such visuals, avoid going that side. See more..

Kaziranga National Orchid And Biodiversity Park image
    1) Beautiful garden with 800+ species of orchids, some of them very rare. I never thought India had such a place with such an amazing collection. There was a lady who explained us with lots of passion and patience about each and every species. 2) There are cultural shows organised as well in the park. Very entertaining and mesmerizing with dances, singing and performance. I was surprised to see how the artist were multitasking - playing musical instruments, dancing, singing. I would recommend anyone going to Kaziranga to not miss this place. See more..

With my wife I visited the Balaji Temple Guwahati on 9 March 2020. The temple gives a glimpse of Balaji Temple of Tirupati in the city in Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh. While roaming in the Balaji Temple Guwahati, the memory Venkateswara Temple, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam flushed in my mind. The city is home to most famous and important Vaishnavite shrine of Tirumala Venkateswara Temple and other historic temples. Apart of the Balaji Temple we viewed the deity in the Padmavati Temple. The picturesque view of everything inside the temple demands admiration of any visitor. On the left side of the entrance there is counter for selling Prasadam. The address, timings is seasons, and other relevant information you will get from the website. Do not forget to collect Prasadam of God balaji. I took a photo of the entance gate from outside. - Things to do in Guwahati- Chandubi lake, Jungle camp resort
    Bodies of Water
    Chandubi Lake image
It was a beautiful lake side. Atmosphere was very serene. I was visited the place with my family in late Jul-22. There was a small boat ride which are well maintained and provided life jackets. It will cost per boat around 100 rupees. Boat will take you to nearby eco resort. You can spend a lazy afternoon in the resort, in nature and have your lunch or tea/ coffe. We have visited Jungle resort camp. It was very good with polite staff. Food was good and freshly made. You have to wait atleast 1hour to get the food . So my suggestion is go there little early and ordered the food. In the mean you can relax in the nature. It takes around 2 hours from Guwahati main city by car. Road is absolutely well maintained. Be mindful when you are visiting the place in monsoon month. Roads and even inside the resort places are slippery. Request to resort owner and related government organization to build concrete station for boat arrivals. Otherwise it is really unstable ground during monsoon. See more..
