We had an excellent experience with Alder Tours and Travels. We, a family of three, had just concluded a trip of 9 days in Nagaland and it was Alder who arranged it for us. The homestay, food, car and hospitality throughout were seamless and worthy. They had sensed our tastes and preferences very early during our stay and aligned themselves accordingly. The owner, Mr. Kevichulie Meyase was most helpful and made arrangements even to our last minute requests. Even our guide, companion, and all purpose person throughout our stay, Mr. Petezapu Meyase is a warm, friendly and delightful person, who helped us throughout the course of our journey. We had a small kid with us, our 7-year old son, his needs were also taken care of. We are looking forward to another tour with Alder Tours and Travels soon. Thank yoi. Alder Tours and Travels. I got the name & contact details of the agency through the Nagaland Tourism office in Kolkata, & am thankful to them for it. The agency is run by a gentleman named Kejaroko Pieru & he was helpful to me from day one, taking care of the itinerary, the ILP, choosing the best possible villages for me to explore & the best guides to explore them with. I'd also like to commend Asou Savino for being an excellent guide. I loved Nagaland so much that I didn't even fret about Air India delaying their flight back to CCU by 25 hours! I'd recommend Nagaland and Pieru tours to everyone who wishes to travel to the unexplored gem that is Nagaland. & Yes, i'll definitely go there again ! For sure See more..
  3. 5.0 Dzuleke Village (7 reviews)
    - Home in the hills
    Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Dzuleke Village image
Dzuleke..a word that resounds with the silence of the hills, of quiet sips from a piping hot tea cup as you watch the clouds playing hide and seek with your senses. Here we stayed at one of the beautiful little wooden cottages of two sisters who let out the top room and terrace for visitors. All the huts welcome you with smiling faces and flowers filling every corner. You find the hottest chillies in the world (Bhoot Jalokia) here and watch as men carry fresh crabs from the Dzuleke river and serve you a breakfast of aromatic Binni rice to die for. A stay that will stay etched in my memory forever. See more..

  13. 4.5 Japfu Peak (16 reviews)
    - Climbed the wrong peak, but worth it
    Mountains
    Japfu Peak image
There are no signs on the way up to guide you, so try to get a route beforehand or be ready for an adventure. As long as the way goes up, you'll always reach a top anyway, and that's what happened to me. Unfortunately, the peak was not Japfu peak but her little brother on the south. Beautiful trek. The jungle is amazing. Tough climb in the bamboo forest! If you come here, please remember to not drop waste on the ground (sweet wrappings etc.). Even better: bring a plastic bag and pick the garbage up to help the jungle get a little cleaner! See more..

However, you need a local guide or known person to reach the spot or else you might get lost. Don't be afraid if you find in the middle of the jungle some one with a gun as people go for hunting also there. Take an auto from dimapur and reach Patkai Christian college and set walking. Take the help of a person to reach as I earlier said See more..

    Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Doyang Hydro Project image
The Doyang dam is BEAUTIFUL but difficult to get to. It is the place where the Amur Falcon come to roost in the last week of October and November on its way to South Africa. The Pangti Town side of the dam is more geared for viewing the Falcons but we could not find options for accommodation yet. It is better to approach the dam from Longkum or Mangmetong. The journey from Wokha took us hours on a road that is more pothole than road. We had our own 4x4 vehicle and had a royal time exploring the mud trails and small villages. See more..

We visited Ungma during Christmas festival. I would suggest all travellers to visit places of Mokokchung, including Ungma, during Christmas. Nice hamlet with traditional Naga huts, modern buildings and a good number of decorated Churches. We enjoyed the Carol competition at Ungma Church. Enjoyed traditionally dressed men and women folks; enjoyed Naga cuisines and bought art objects from the small kiosks on either side of the main road. It is only half an hour journey to reach Ungma from Mokokchung town. Never miss to visit this place when you are at Nagaland. See more..
