    Abritus Archaeological Reserve, Razgrad image
I visited Abritus while working in Razgrad for an extended period of time, and very much enjoyed my visit. It is a little bit of a walk from town (about 2Km depending upon your starting point), but a relatively easy journey. The museum inside is very nice, and the curator spoke some English, and all the signs are in English and Bulgarian. Outside are numerous headstones as well as the ruins from the Roman fortress built in the 1st Century. You can view all of the aritifacts and ruins up close with no barriers between you and the outside artifacts (remnants of the Roman walls, tombstones, etc.). They also have a small gift shop. I highly recommend spending a couple hours at Abritus if your travels take you to Razgrad! See more..

The history for this site is intriguing. The walk to get there is quite easy, all down stairs. After taking in the stories and sights, be prepared for a hefty walk uphill. The path is clear and has many stairs. It is shaded and quite beautiful. Multiple cultures have found this location sacred so it's history it long and colorful See more..

  5. 4.0 Arbritus Castle (1 review)
    - ABRITUS
    Castles
Abritus emerges as a Thracian settlement. From the 1st century on, it was a Roman military camp that was rebuilt in a city in the II century.Тhe name Abritus is of Latin origin and means "steep". The ruins of the old fortress and the city stretch quite a large area, parts of them are discovered and preserved. There is a large collection of tombstones and various stone remains in the outdoor exposition. In the established museum you can also see the open coin treasure, which is very well preserved. The Mosque is really beautiful. It's a gem hidden from the main touristic routs in Bulgaria. It's condition is quite neglected and you are definitely not supposed to get inside. See more..

    31 Coffee Shop image
This place should be closed down as soon as possible. I went there with a few friends and I have to say the service is horrible. Some middle-aged guy looked like a cheap gang member who was supposed to prepare our smoothies. I haven't seen anyone so unfriendly and rude. As if, we-the customers were invading his privacy and he had no intention to make our stay there pleasurable. Apart from the bad service, the hygiene was lacking big time. No simple COVID precautions, the guy was touching money and fruits without washing his hands in advance. I had second thoughts about whether or not this place is legit safe for consumption. Please avoid it, I am sure there are way better places in town to order a smoothie or coffee. BAD BAD place overall. See more..
