Great place to go birding in the morning

Great urban forest for hiking and birdwatching! Saw many species including a Russet Crowned Mot-Mot. There were many vermillion flycatchers, and a flock of parrots. Its also great to just wander and explore.

Best experience during long visit
During a long stay in Guadalajara visiting family, I was invited to visit Bosque Los Colomos, as it is known. I fell in love right away with the place. Students were painting,, sculpting outdoors under the trees. I enrolled in two of their weekend classes, drawing and painting. The classes were given outdoors, they were inexpensive and most rewarding. I not only made friends right away, had a most enriching experience.

Shockingly Beautiful Park inside huge city.
who knew, a huge forest inside a huge city. what a find. so glad I dragged by 14 year old son and wife to this beautiful example of beauty. Do yourself a favor if you are in Guadalajara and visit this insane park. Its really just a huge forest and ravine, with a running path around it, with a cool japanese garden.
