    We had previously bought a bottle of tequila that we really liked and I called the number on the bottle to see if we could tour the distillery. It is located in Amatitan, the town before Tequila. Alondra gave us a tour in Spanish and nothing could have been better. We felt like family and learned the whole process using all five senses. A real treat. +52 33 3880 7500 Highly recommend!!!     Fabulous experience! Tour explains entire process in detail with the nicest tour guides you could imagine. Tour starts in agave fields where all the agave is grown on the farm. Distillery is small, tequila is artisanal (read marvelous). We tasted cooked agave, fermented agave, tequila coming straight from distillery and at the tour end, tried 4 excellent tequilas - Tapatio, Ocho and Tesoro. The tour is small and personal, would HIGHLY recommend! Drive from Guadalajara takes you up into the highlands and through the agave fields. 2.5 hours from Guadalajara.
