This lookout offers great panoramic views of Puerto Vallarta and the whole Bay of Banderas, including parts of the city east of the mountains. It's not as difficult a hike up the lookout as you might think. Most people who are comfortable walking uphill can do this. Bring your camera or smart phone for pics! Great times to go are for sunrise and sunset. At sunrise, in particular, you may find yourself with the whole lookout all to yourself. Interesting tip: The "Down Vallarta" international mountain bike race which takes place each spring starts from the mirador de la cruz. See more..

I rented an ATV in San Sébastien del Oeste with a tour guide and he led us up the mountain on a crazy dirt road..there were cars and trucks on road too..but it was crazy bumpy especially as we neared the top. A short hike after we parked led to a perfect spectacular view of the Sierra Madre Occidentals! See more..

So, a long uneven walkway by one statue, some picnic areas, you pay a nominal fee or umbrella. Saw some little skiffs in water. You can take one over to the Grand Hotel for little money and walk around the lovely grounds and visit inside. See more..
