After a 10 minute tour (which is why this gets two stars and not just one), we were shuffled into a small room (luckily air conditioned) and given a 30+ minute presentation on the virtues of bee products. The tour itself was nice — you get to see the small Thai bees (like small ants), hold a shelf filled with bees (luckily smoked so they were disoriented) and see some museum exhibits about bees (including the largest hive found in Thailand). The product demonstration (honey, royal jelly, bee pollen...) was a bit much — apparently you can cure constipation, spur a growth spurt, cure cancer, make you look young forever and heal all sorts of wounds! A’ la Campagne looks like a small, idyllic village. Despite being on the Sukhumvitroad, you will experience an oasis of peace. There are a good Thai (SomTum Villa) and a Western (La Rouge) restaurant, a few tastefully decorated bars, idyllic terraces, a tea factory, a shop selling homemade items, a naturally decorated playground, an inspiring farm and vegetable garden and a beautiful flower garden with fontains. It is all set up with love, attention and taste by Thais who enjoy the good and healthy life. They have put a lot of effort into healthy organic food and drinks. Fresh smoothies, kombucha, salads, a wide selection of tea, fish. Most of the ingrediënten are organically produced and come from their own garden and farm. This farm contains many open cement tanks with several kinds of sea creatures especially clownfish. The back of the place is tangent to the sea; thus, ones can see a beautiful view of the sea, protruding wooden bridge, islands and fisherman village from here. Also, there are a tiny museum and a small souvenir shop. You can contact staff to purchase some clownfish. Entrance fee is 20 baht for adult and 10 bath for child. There is no parking lot available. Although the place looked shabby (need maintenance), it is still a suitable place for kids and anyone who has nothing to do in Samaesarn.See more..
