We went on a wonderful Island Hopping tour. The longtail boat was the most luxurious around, with comfortable seats and good shade if needed. Our guide Guest spoke perfect English and knew so much, we learned a lot. And even with all the boat traffic he knew a place we could have a quite secluded lunch on the beach. I highly recommend this tour. See more..

    Holiday Service Khao Lak image
I went on the "Best of Khao Sok" tour and have only good things to tell. From the punctual pick up to the very friendly, knowledgeable and multi-lingual (Thai, as you would expect, English and German) guide, the whole day was very well organized and great fun. In a small group of only seven, we were transferred by minibus to the Khao Sok National Park. On the way and throughout the day our guide Peera gave plenty of information about the national park, nature, wildlife, etc. We were paddled down a river in comfortable kayaks for about an hour. This was my favorite part, so tranquil, scenic and relaxing! After a short transfer, we then boarded a long tail boat which drove us around the Khao Sok lake, which is truly beautiful, plenty of photo opportunities! After lunch on a floating restaurant, we had some time to swim in a secluded and quiet bay before heading back to land. With a quick stop at a look out we made our way back to Khoa Lak. I had a really great day and would suggest this trip to everyone, solo traveler, couple or family. See more..

    - Amazing experience and value!
    Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Scuba & Snorkelling • Kayaking & Canoeing
Zaidy Travel Koh Yao Yai image
Our day trip with Zaidy Travel far exceeded our expectations. Communication via WhatsApp prior to the tour was quick and easy. Pick-up from our hotel, lunch and refreshments, and all entrance fees were included. Our guide, Kai, was extremely kind and knowledgeable - not only was he our long-tail boat captain, but also our private photographer! The tour included several islands where we could snorkel, swim, relax, and explore, as well as a visit to a local lobster farm. Everything was catered to our pace; because it was a private tour, there was flexiblity in the itinerary. And, the cost was less than 1/5th that offered at our hotel. We highly recommend Zaidy Travel for anyone looking for tours from Koh Yao Yai! See more..

Bass House - Activities on Koh Yao Noi image
Some fellow travellers at our bungalows had booked an island hopping tour with Bass and asked if we'd like to join them, and boy are we glad we did! Early start (8am pick up) but it was worth it. Bass took us to the popular islands and got us there before anyone else, so we enjoyed the serenity without hoards of tourists. He also took us to some less known spots, a beautiful little snorkeling spot (with no one but local fishermen around) and an amazing sand bank at Koh Yao Yai where we were the only people as far as the eye could see. Bass was friendly, light hearted and a great host. Boat was clean, fast and safe. Lunch was delicious too! Can't recommend highly enough. See more..

    - Real Thai Island Joy
    Islands
    Ko Yao Yai image
Wow. Have been heading off to quiet bits of Phuket for years and am generally a fan of islands. The quiet bits of Phuket are getting very hard to find so we opted for a few days on Ko Yao Yai and what an utter joy to find real rural tranquility and wonderful road side eateries. Be warned, beer can be hard to find but great food, simplicity and tranquility are in abundance. Oh and we took two separate high speed boat transfers between Ban Rong and the island. Both high speed. Both 300 Baht per person but one without a life jacket in sight. Will post some more reviews when I get home to my island! Bye for now. See more..

    - An epic must-see!
    Religious Sites
    Wat Bang Riang image
If you're staying in Krabi and interested in seeing any of the temples, you absolutely need to go see Wat Ban Riang. We stayed in Ao Nang and couldn't find any tours that went there so we rented a van/driver for the day to head north to see the temple. It was absolutely stunning, I've never seen anything like it. The country side surrounding the temple is beautiful; undulating green hills as far as the eye can see. The temple itself is incredibly ornate and intricate. The massive statues of the Chinese Goddess of Compassion and Buddha are incredible. Of all the excursions we did in Krabi, this was by far our favourite. It is a great way to spend a day; you have to see it! See more..

Sa Nang Manora Forest Park image
My suggestion if you want best experience here: 1. Early - Rent a bike or car so that you can arrive here earlier than others. 2. Walk - Go up a little bit, you will see several pond with a lot of fishes. You can swim here as it consider deep 1-1.5 meter 3. Camera - It's will be very good if you have underwater camera. But phone should be enough. 4. Food - You may want to bring something to eat. Sandwich etc. I came here on my way back to Hatyai (driving). Around 12PM-1PM, people start to arrive using van (must be included in their tour package). Stay here about 2 hours because of the water very refreshing. There is washroom here, so you dont have to worry about changing your clothes. See more..

  22. 4.5 Wat Tham Ta Pan Temple (56 reviews)
    - Buddhist Heaven & Hell!
    Points of Interest & Landmarks
Wat Tham Ta Pan Temple image
In our way from Ao nang to Phang Nga we found "Wat Tham Ta Pan" monastery. Wat Tham Ta Pan is one of the most weird temples in Thailand. It's Located in Phang Nga (100 km from Phuket). It is a kind of Buddhist heaven and hell temple which showing what happens to bad and good people with many colorful statues. At the entrance you’ll see a fountain with five monks with bowl statues. The temple has a vast yard with many Buddhist elements and statues and buildings and an interesting spot for photography. There are peaceful scenes designed to represent heaven, and the sin park is a small sculpture garden full of figures from Buddhist hell (Naraka). The most stunning thing in this temple is a steep staircase which leads to a small roofed temple with panoramic viewpoint at top. The scenery is really breathtaking and all surrounding area is visible. This monastery is worthy of visiting. See more..

    - The best on the island by far!
    4WD, ATV & Off-Road Tours • Beaches • Duck Tours • Fishing Charters & Tours • Boat Rentals
Koh Yao Yai ATV tour image
Wow, where do I start.. This guy who runs this business is brilliant, we had private trip to Phi Phi which was amazing, took us to Maya beach, snorkling in lagoons and feeding monkies on monkey island- I broke my phone whilst on the tour, was pretty gutted as I was using it for photos, not a problem as the main guy took photos throughout on his ipad for us and emailed them over so we still had the memories.. We stayed in Santyhia hotel and he was so much cheaper - he made brilliant thai food for picnics and never felt rushed in anyway Many times we bumped into him around the island when we was visiting places on scooters, one time we hit a tropical rain shower and got shelter under a tree, he spotted us and drove back with towels and rain macks - what a great guy... we also did the ATV tour which was fantastic and would highly recommend to use this guy.. See more..

  28. 4.5 Elephant Head Rock (52 reviews)
    - One of the top dive sites in the Similans
    Nature & Wildlife Areas
    Elephant Head Rock image
You go in a circle around the huge central boulders, in either direction, depending on the current. Depths can go to way beyond 30m, depending on your certification and experience. You'll see sharks at the greater depths. If you're lucky, "Barry", the barracuda is hiding under an overhang in the shallows. You'll need a good guide to take you through all the magnificent swim-thrus, from down at 25m to just below the surface. With good viz this can be the best site in the entire National Marine Park. Also, ask your guide about Elephant Head Pinnacle, which is just off to the ... south-east I believe? No one ever goes there and it is beautiful. Full of pristine coral gardens. But very deep! See more..
  29. 4.5 Ko Pa Nak (47 reviews)
    - Beautiful canoeing experience
    Spent 2-3 hours Islands
    Ko Pa Nak image
The views are one of the most amazing I've ever seen. You have to lie flat on the canoe to avoid injury. Unfortunately, my foot got scratched getting into one of the caves, lying flat! It wasn't a big scratch but still have the scar. I got first aid help as soon as we got to the big boat. It is worth it, just watch out for those spikes! See more..

Great place for a trip out, super easy to get to if you have a scooter. Sunset is great here. There is no beach, so you wouldn’t stay long, but you can come and see the fishing boats. There is a restaurant/bar here, so you can grab a drink. See more..
  31. 4.5 Koh Ku Du Yai Island (34 reviews)
    - Beautiful, deserted island!
    Islands
Koh Ku Du Yai Island image
I hired a fishing boat for a day to go to the small islands north of Koh Yao. Koh Kudu was one of them. It is a small, amazing island! The entrance is blocked by two big, and one baby limestone rocks. The rocks form a little green lagoon in front of the island. I had the place to myself for a heavenly (Thai) picnic lunch on the beach. It was absolutely peaceful, with the sounds of the jungle behind and the waves lashing up to the rocks in front. The sand is so soft and white, your feet just sink in while walking. There are pretty trees, that make every view picturesque! And the packed lunch and my guide/boatman were great too! See more..

  34. 4.5 Ruesi Sawan and Luk Suea Cave (23 reviews)
    - Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area
Spent 2-3 hours Caverns & Caves
Ruesi Sawan and Luk Suea Cave image
Somdet Phra Srinagarindra Public Park is a beautiful well maintained public park surrounded by limestone mountains that you can drive around and even through a cave. It is extremely popular with locals having picnics specially on weekends and it is rare to see any tourists there. There are two adjoining caves called Tham Ruesi Sawan and Tham Luk Suea where you will see lots of stalactites and a little stream flowing through. This really is a beautiful place to visit and there is a lovely lake, gardens, statues and good playgrounds for the children. Be careful around the caves as there are also a lot of monkeys. The Park has free entry and is on the main road of Phang Nga Town on the right hand side if driving from Phuket and there is another entrance just after you turn onto the Krabi Highway. Phang Nga is about a 1.5 hour drive from Patong. See more..

  37. 4.5 Koh Kho Khao Diving (20 reviews)
    - Diving from a longtail
    Scuba & Snorkelling
    Koh Kho Khao Diving image
I went for a dive with this company. It was actually quite cheap, only 3000thb including all equipment, the equipment was ok, looked worn but was in good working order. There where only Thai nationals working on the dive-Day. Or maybe there are only Thai employies. Their english is not great, and neither is mine. But it worked out fine. It took a hour and a half to get to the dive site. The longtail was quite noicy during the trip. They said that they sometimes see big sting rays. But not this Day. The enviroment in that area is amazing. All in all a good dive with a good dive-company. See more..
  38. 4.5 Check-In Andaman (20 reviews)
    - Really enjoyable despite the crowds
Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Boat Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
    Check-In Andaman image
Overall a well organised and enjoyable day. Opportunity to snorkel at 4 different locations and the clear sea water and beautiful sea life was incredible. Don’t expect too much from the food. We were well fed throughout the day but quality was a little basic. This isn’t too much of a problem as long as you realise that the money you’re paying isn’t for a 5* food experience! The big downside for us was that at one of the stops there were at least 10 boats parked in the same area with the surrounding sea filled full of people, at which point they proceeded to throw fruit into the water to lure over a sea turtle. Suddenly there were at least 50 people chasing the turtle around to get a look and a photo. At one point the turtle got close to one of the boats whilst someone was jumping in at the same time and only narrowly missed it. This seems completely unethical and unsafe for the turtle and they should stop doing this! The water is crystal clear and there is already plenty of amazing marine life without having to lure in sea turtles. Be prepared for the whole experience to be generally crowded. It’s obviously a popular excursion and the number of tourists on the beaches does ruin the paradise island feel somewhat! See more..
