   The European bison is the highlight of this park. They also have deer and some other horned "beasts", as well as pheasants and peacocks. Sadly, the bear is kept in such a small enclosure it will break your heart. Nevertheless, it's a place worth stopping for a short while, especially if you bring your children.    This park is sadly like a lot of things in Onesti, in a poor state of repair. Steps up to the park are crumbling away and there are the remains of what must once have been an attractive water feature which is resolutely off. What seems like a problem in Onesti-I saw yet another small pack of feral dogs wander the park. I hesitate to add they do not cause a problem for humans. Underneath though, it still retains some attractiveness-there are paths with low hedges which are well pruned and the greenery itself hasn't been overgrown. In the summer heat it must be a welcome place, but in early spring it seemed a tad desolate. You can walk to the river Trotus which looked pretty sludgy. See more..

   There are two pools,one for adults, with a depht that varries between 1,3 and 2m and a small one for children(about 50-75cm deep).The adult pool is nice, the water is clean but a little too cold.There is a small fast food area with good prices but it closes long before the pool closes.The tiles around the pool are very slippery,I think they should change them.     When in Botosani - for me - one of the most important landmarks/points of interest was the memorial house of Nicolae Iorga. Nicola Iorga was a politician who for a short period of time was the prime minister of Romania , he was a historian and a philosopher and a teacher at the university of Bucharest and at the university of Paris. He truly made his mark on Romanian history. He had a violent demise in 1940 - he was killed by the members of the "Iron Guard". The memorial house is situated on a small street in Botosani - no parking on the premises , you need to park your car on the side of the road. And also the other surprise - it was not open - there was an unreadable piece of paper in one of the windows of the house - could be a phone number to call the custodian, but since it was so "yellowed" by the sun I simply don't know. Honestly I was looking forward to this visit but in the end it was a sort of disappointment since I could only see the house from the street ... maybe next time. See more..
