This is a must see if you are in the area. You can walk the whole resort, on the shore of the Slanic River, visiting all sorts of mineral water springs, which they are good for eyes, stomach, skin, etc. The scenery is very nice, rich in trees. I recommend visits during the summer time See more..
  2. 5.0 Ceahlau Massif (1 review)
    - One of the most beautiful mountains in Romania
Spent More than 3 hours Mountains
The Ceahlău Massif is one of the most beautiful mountains in Romania. You would find it a very good hiking destination as there are marked trails built for hikers and tourists. You can easily find accommodation in Durau resort (which is literally on the massif itself, at 800 m altitude) or, besides other places, there is Dochia Chalet near Toaca Peak, at 1750 m altitude, the best choice if you want to get often, in a short time, to the peaks of the mountain (my stay at this chalet was a very convenient one). There are several peaks that you can climb during your stay on this mountain and the most interesting of them, in my opinion, are Toaca Peak and Ocolasul Mare Peak. They are also the highest peaks of The Ceahlau Massif. Toaca Peak is really worth climbing, even if it is not that easy to do. While being on the top of this peak, you get one of the most beautiful views; I found it amazing. See more..
