    - Ancient place with lot of positive energy
    Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Manastirea Șinca Veche image
I red about this place among other strange places in Romania and decided to see it. Today it happened. The cave is carved into the hill and has two chambers with drawings on walls. You can feel the energy when entering the cave. And, by the way, it is free entrance, between 9 and 20 in summer and 9 to 18 from october! So you can go inside and pray or sit outside on a bench and meditate. Nearby is a spring with cristal clear water which will ease your thirst! I spent over 2 hours there. It was amazing. I plan to go again tomorrow, on my way to Bucharest! For all of you who want to sit quietly in a holly place and think about what should we do with our life, I say go to Cave in Sinca Veche! 5. 4.5 Sturdza Palace (28 reviews)
    - Lovely but aging
Wednesday: Points of Interest & Landmarks
    Sturdza Palace image
This is a fairy tale location. I wish I could have spent more time inside, but it was growing late in the evening when we arrived. The exterior is a dream, the interior is in need of some repair. Still charming, nevertheless. There were a number of bride and groom couples all taking pictures on the grounds. That was a little distracting, but I completely understand the appeal of the location. Roznovanu Palas / Iasi City Hall image
Built in 1832 the palace today is the city hall of Iasi and it is not open for visitor - like in Vienna or Budapest or any other major city in the world outside of Romania - like everywhere in RO... for the time being I don't know any city hall that you can visit ... except if you have a friend who has a friend who knows somebody ... The building served as a private residence for decades - a home to culture , where G. Enescu was playing and M. Eminescu was presenting his new poems. So when you are walking in the area, you can stop for a few pics in front of this beautiful building. See more..

    Vanatori Neamt Nature Park image
The European bison is the highlight of this park. They also have deer and some other horned "beasts", as well as pheasants and peacocks. Sadly, the bear is kept in such a small enclosure it will break your heart. Nevertheless, it's a place worth stopping for a short while, especially if you bring your children. The entrance fee is small (can't remember exactly how much). See more..

The monument is very beautiful. My father, Col(r.) Aurel Tutuianu had an important contribution to the renovation of of this wonderful place , together with the mayor of Targu Ocna town in 1974. In attachement you will find an touching appreciation letter from the General-maior (retired) Emil-Anton A. Popescu, former participant to the WW I battles on these places. The letter was sent after the General's participation to the opening ceremony after the monument renovation in 1972-1974. See more..

  20. 3.0 Casa Memorială "Nicolae Iorga"/ "Nicolae Iorga" Memorial House (1 review)
    - Not open - the great historian would deserve more attention.
Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks • Architectural Buildings
Casa Memorială "Nicolae Iorga"/ "Nicolae Iorga" Memorial House image
When in Botosani - for me - one of the most important landmarks/points of interest was the memorial house of Nicolae Iorga. Nicola Iorga was a politician who for a short period of time was the prime minister of Romania , he was a historian and a philosopher and a teacher at the university of Bucharest and at the university of Paris. He truly made his mark on Romanian history. He had a violent demise in 1940 - he was killed by the members of the "Iron Guard". The memorial house is situated on a small street in Botosani - no parking on the premises , you need to park your car on the side of the road. And also the other surprise - it was not open - there was an unreadable piece of paper in one of the windows of the house - could be a phone number to call the custodian, but since it was so "yellowed" by the sun I simply don't know. Honestly I was looking forward to this visit but in the end it was a sort of disappointment since I could only see the house from the street ... maybe next time. See more..
