5.0Qixian Ridge(29 reviews) - Worth the Steep Climb. Wednesday: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Nature & Wildlife Areas
Dec is a good time to do this. Nice and cool, no other tourists. It's quite a long steep climb to the top. Took us 4-5 hours round trip. 7 year old managed it fine, but might be tough for younger kids. Last section involves pulling yourself up with chains- not suitable for kids. Overall a great experience walking through the forest. Amazing trees. 50rmb entrance (I think) well worth it. Only downer was the crappy piped music that comes at you from fake rocks all the way to the top!See more..
5.0Jiajing Island(10 reviews) - Beautiful little island Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Islands
It's a beautiful island, spoiled by the people who go there. Great clear water for swimming, snorkelling and diving. Unfortunately, to get there, you'll probably have to be part of a tour group, which will involve loudspeakers, music, party games, singing, dancing, and general enforced bonding with your fellow tourgroup members. I'd suggest opting out and lying on the beach. You won't see much of the island, just a little part of beach, that's designated for your tour group. There's no toilets on the island, so secluded spots have sprouted a white floor covering of tissues where people have simply used the space, and thrown the tissues on to the ground, or in to the bushes. There's no litter bins either, so, the island is slowly becoming dirtier as people throw their rubbish in to the trees. But the water is clear, warm, and great for swimming, snorkelling and diving. It's very beautiful.See more..
Perfect beach. Good wind. David the owner is very helpfull and welcoming. Good teaching lessons. Western food and drinks: Salad, sandwiches, pancake and waffle. Rental gear can be better but not expensive. Nice shop. Big trampoline for kids. The Tao ji hotel that host the school is clean, the view amazing, breakfast is fine, swimming pool and garden perfect. Defenetly recommand the place for kiting! See more..
See more..

The Sea Turtles 911 floating sea turtle hospital is nestled in a floating fishing village on the coast of Hainan Island, China, called Xincun. The fishing village is literally floating on the sea, where the residents do not need to set foot on land in their everyday living. 5.0Yulin Island(2 reviews) - 海魂 Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Islands • Beach & Pool Clubs
5.0Wennan Old Street(2 reviews) - Great visuals Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites • Points of Interest & Landmarks • Scenic Walking Areas
Place exceeded expectations and have become a nice surprise, especially it’s located in relatively small, not tourist-beloved town. Not full building but only facades kept from beginning of last century, and these are really asking for some restoration work, but it gives a real history feeling. I was told street built by overseas returnees in early 1910-1920, haven’t done research on it though. Street is full of shops, which are rather daily shops then selling usual tourist crap, so you can feel it’s pretty local and part of real town life. See more..

5.0Riyue Bay Surf Club(1 review) - Friendly and professional Surfing & Windsurfing
Booked hotel room and rented boards from the surf club in December. Prices were reasonable and staff/instructors were all very friendly and professional. Even though I didn't book any lessons, the instructors kindly let me share the van ride with them and their students to the surf break saving me a 7 mins walk carrying the board. Can't comment on the lessons themselves as I didn't take but from what I can tell, the students looked like they were having a great time and the student to instructor ratio was very good, giving individual attention to each student. During my departure, the surf club even booked a taxi for me to train station that was a lot cheaper than the price quoted by my hotel. These staff at the surf club definitely made my trip to riyuewan more memorable.See more..

5.0Yongqing Temple(1 review) - Temple and Beach Historic Sites • Religious Sites
This temple is about 40 minutes drive from Haikou city but well worth the visit. It is the largest Budhist temple in northern Hainan. It is situated right on the beach, so pack your swimming costume for a swim afterwards. There is a simple coffee shop and tea house at the beach end of the temple. There is no English signage in the temple but admission is free. There is a Wingate Hotel nearby for those that might like to stay, or perhaps have an evening buffet. The sunsets are spectacular at the beach. See more..

See more..
