Why visiting Sanya, China I really wanted to find a place to whitewater raft. It did take a little work to locate Hainan Wuzhishan Grand Canyon Rafting, and it is certainly a good 2 1/2 hour drive if not more up a very curvy mountain road that is what takes so long, but the scenery on the drive is really beautiful. I arrived on Sunday at noon, it was busy, but not crazy, the parking guard told me it was really busy on Saturday, over a 1000 people, so I might suggest going on a Sunday rather than Saturday. It is only open Saturday and Sundays. There is a place to change and get a locker for your belongings. A van takes you up a short 5 minute ride to begin the rafting, it certainly can be a little scary in some of the drops but certainly well worth it. I think I was rafting for about 2 hours, maybe a little more. There are food vendors set up all around where you finish if your hungry. If your into rafting you will certainly enjoy, everyone was extremely friendly. I think I was the only American amongst hundreds of Chinese, but it certainly was a fun time with them all.See more..
