The giant Buddha area gets very busy but the rest is nice to see as well. This is quite far from Sanya and takes about 50 minutes to get to from the city center. The entrance for low season is 108 and there is a weird bus system that can take you around the park for 30. We would recommend skipping the bus as the area is quite walkable but bring very good shoes. You will need plenty of water if you go mid day and there are many drinks and snacks sold in the area. If you are a foreigner make sure you go to the team ticket buying counter and keep to the far right line to get in. See more..

This small temple is located on its own little island that is now a major tourist destination. The temple was underwhelming but very historical. We didn't stay long though do to the crowds. We were there at the start of the Chinese New Years Holiday so it was expected to be busy, which it was! See more..

    - Epitome of badly managed cultural relics

Visited the temple and although the price is cheap, the condition inside is, well pathetic. Dirt and leaves everywhere, and not a single bench was clean enough to sit on. The attendants were all sleeping, except one girl who was playing on her cellphone and didn't even bother a glance at us. This is 11am in the morning. Just affirms the stereotype of lazy Hainanese. This place needs a revamp, seriously! How can Hainan claim to be an international tourist destination when most of the signage isn't even bilingual. Like many things in China, this place has great potential. However I wouldn't recommend it for anyone visiting since you'll just walk away sadly disappointed. See more..

    跟团旅游时,如想看风景只能步行观赏,可惜导游给的时间只能观赏一两个景点。如坐电动车观赏整个景区,那么千万别进道观,否则破财! See more..

This temple is about 40 minutes drive from Haikou city but well worth the visit. It is the largest Budhist temple in northern Hainan. It is situated right on the beach, so pack your swimming costume for a swim afterwards. There is a simple coffee shop and tea house at the beach end of the temple. There is no English signage in the temple but admission is free. There is a Wingate Hotel nearby for those that might like to stay, or perhaps have an evening buffet. The sunsets are spectacular at the beach. See more..
